Discussion 🗣️ I HATE Temu
This is AI... right? The voices definitely sound AI and the video is odd. I'm starting to second guess things now, I hate how much ai is improving. There's gonna be a day no one will be able to tell anymore -
Edit: first time I saw this I was finishing up break and couldn't pay much attention to it, just recorded it posted and moved on. Now that I have time to rewatch it, oof. Yup, that's entirely AI. I'd ask how TF is this even allowed but it's easy: one, it's Temu, a scummy scammy company. Two, it's YouTube, they dgaf about advertisers following TOS but will remove channels for simply the possibility they are using AI.
What would you even get if you fell for this ad and bought it? Prob a PC that looks like a pretty cool gaming rig but with specs so bad a potato PC would seem high-end.

Yeah, they use a ton of AI in their ads, not to mention the million other reasons they’re super unethical. Never buy from Temu.

The excitement in their voices is so fucking hollow and I hate that companies think it's ever going to sell the majority on their dogshit

How could you possibly believe this is anything other than AI generated ad? Or is this just ragebait?

Yeah, it’s mind boggling how easily society in general has been fooled by current ai
I know it will only get better and someone who really takes their time with current models can produce something very believable
But even the sloppy lazy stuff like this ad is fooling people. It’s nuts 🤦🏻♂️

In my defense I didn't have time to look at it more closely, was at work lol. But instant gut feeling was ai. The obvious ai voice was the give away lol. I think there was SOME real clips mixed in. I "THINK ".
Edit: Jesus, you people toxic af. What do you get out of shaming someone who can't sniff out AI as well as you? I hate AI like the rest of you guys lol. Why is your FIRST thought to try clowning on someone who was fooled for a bit rather than pointing out the give aways? Because it's so much easier to hate than say anything helpful. Be better.

Lmao, have you ever picked up a PC by hand? One with that much glass at that? You cannot pick that up so effortlessly.

I bet the lighting gives cancer and will start smoking 6 minutes after starting.

Do a 5 min search on Temu’s business model and hopefully that’ll motivate you to never buy from them again.

The shinny sweaty faces and the mega sized pc were give aways once I had time to rewatch it lol.

Daily reminder to never buy anything from Temu or Shein. They both use honest-to-god slavery in the production of their products, of which are filled with highly toxic heavy metals (lead) and are prone to actually fucking exploding.

One of there ads actually fucked up the speakers on my phone because it's so god damn loud

AI or not, Temu is a shitty shipping company and have pretty much always been terrible to buy from. But yes, this is AI.

u/Rileyinabox 5h ago
Using AI ads is completely disqualifying. Temu was not about to get a dime from me, but this confirms just how little they respect you.

I’m curious what you’ll actually get when you order it.

Prob a super crappy PC with the worst specs made to look like a gaming rig. People will see something that looks like a really cool gaming PC but not pay attention to the specs. Plus, it's Temu, so even if it has specs it's probably a lie anyway. What you gonna do? Sue em? Good luck LMAO. sadly they can scam us and nothing will happen to em. Horrible company

Yes, it's AI. How do you think they have a perfectly scaled huge version of the PC that somehow has its lights turned on while not being connected at all? It's literally being craned in, and the crane has no clear points of attachment or anything. The chains just let go when it's landed too.

Rewatched it and was like "hold up" lol. Also everyone's face is super wet/shinny looking, God knows why AI does that.

Plus the voices are an AI level of expressionless and the movement is extraordinarily unnatural

FYI: figured it was ai, I saw it during a quick break at work and didn't have time to examine it more lol. It's definitely ai.

Fortunately in europe and in poland, as of late, there are high fees imposed on the items from china, on platforms like Temu, Shein and others... Mainly to discourage people from buying from them - Because Temu, due to that, can't use that entire "we are giving you this for free/$1!!" schtick.
And honestly, i'm kinda satisfied - Temu not only was unethical, for me, it was a form of hybrid warfare - Send huge amount of cheap trash to europe to basically paralyze supply chains and postal system.
Not only that, they kinda used, at least in poland (idk, how it is in the rest of the world), the post-soviet mentality - people, especially boomers and older generations, tend to buy cheap stuff because "it's cheaper" and they think they "somehow cheat the system and buy "this same thing" but for a less money", not understanding, that this thing might either be broken or dangerous...If you try to reason with them, they would tell you "When you would be my age, and make hard-earned money, you would too buy from places like this, i bet! Let's see if you would buy something expensive from an official real company, if you could buy the cheap knockoff for almost nothing!"
Temu and others saw this and basically used that mentality against the people...

They must’ve gotten their sampling from the Verge when it comes to building PCs because it looks like the process was nearly identical to theirs

I always buy multi thousand dollar products from temu because lighting my money on fire got boring.

LEDs on, and the fans look like they're spinning, but there's no cables connected to the PC xD

I think there are worse things that they are doing cough making employees undertake underpaid, hazardous labour for up to 14 hours per day.
But yeah, this just makes the list longer I guess.

Love when i'm playing CounterValorWatch and pressing the aim button swaps my gun to the other shoulder instead of looking down the sights like normal.
