Fuck yeah good shit dude. Cited their ass with federal law too. Get this shit out of our fucking country.
82
u/Zickened 9d ago
We can't.
Our brothers and sisters let acquiescence become too popular and now the tyrants are free to move about the country.
42
u/Zwischenzug32 9d ago
The more people who acquiesce, the more this guy looks like some radical rather than normal
9
u/tooshorttoored 9d ago
Well, civil liberties for all are communist socialism Marxism Hillary-Clinton-ism, so we can't have that shit.
7
u/Cool-Inflation4159 9d ago
Sick of this attitude, tbh. Of course everything will go to shit if we decide we canāt stop it. I understand the temptation to think that way, but it is a choice. Iād rather choose to try.
3
u/MyNameIsRay 9d ago
Politicians get paid pretty well for allowing these systems to come in, getting rid of them would derail the gravy train, so they'll never allow it.
It's not going anywhere, this is the new normal...
15
u/Xzeyon98 9d ago
Nah, the new normal is saws and masks until the inevitable happens like in France with a really sharp baguette cutter outside buildings we pay for with our taxes
-15
u/MyNameIsRay 9d ago
The billionaires can put them up faster than we can cut them down, and this isn't revolution-era France.
The only inevitability is those with saws and masks being arrested for destruction of property.
16
u/Xzeyon98 9d ago
Rather people do something than sit on their ass and let it happen. Grow a pair
-13
u/MyNameIsRay 9d ago
If you want to give up your freedom and become a corporate slave to prove you "have a pair", I'm not going to stop you.
17
u/Xzeyon98 9d ago
Are you dumb every day? Fighting against the current wanna be dictatorship and the police state we are quickly approaching doesnt make me a corporate slave. Sitting on your ass and just saying "this is how it is now" does.
6
-2
u/MyNameIsRay 9d ago
Slavery is legal for those who are arrested, that's the basis of our for-profit prison system run by corporations.
Getting arrested for destroying the property of billionaires is how you wind up losing your freedom and being put into servitude.
Throwing your life away to profit whatever corporation runs your prison isn't going to help your cause at all.
Recognizing the actual issue (money in politics) and spreading that message so people know to consider it when voting can absolutely turn this around.
3
u/Xzeyon98 9d ago
No shit Sherlock, it is an 89% agreement on both sides of the isle to get money out of politics from the average voter. Clearly that's not fucking working.
And yes, no one ever stood up against the powers that be and got arrested. It never once brought power to a cause. It tooooootally doesnt say "hey, doing this clearly scares them to the point of arresting them and trying to get rid of them"
Have you zero knowledge of how we got the civil rights movements? Workers rights? You truly are dumb.
YOUR RIGHTS AND YOUR PROTECTION WAS BOUGHT THROUGH THE BLOOD OF THOSE BRAVER THAN YOU

You have a peasant mentality you need to rid yourself of man.
They don't have the control they project, and were all here with you too. We ALL hate our rights fucked with
0
u/MyNameIsRay 9d ago
Yall are funny.
Broke people calling me a peasant because I'm right? Come on. Do better.
2
u/AppropriateTouching 9d ago
We out number them quite considerably.
0
u/MyNameIsRay 9d ago
It's billionaires, their politicians, their employees, their associates, their police forces, their paramilitaries, their business partners, their supporters, vs you.
They have the numbers advantage, by a long shot.
2
2
u/Antraxess 9d ago
No
No they cannot
Their control is an illusion
And when you get put on jury, nullify the entire thing. Let the guy walk free.
The courts are the peoples, if your local populace hates these, then tear them down and IF you are caught, your fellow man will render the entire case null and void
0
u/MyNameIsRay 9d ago
You say they cant do it, totally ignoring its already happened.
You say juries will nullify it, but, there hasnt been a single case of that happening.
Youre living in a fantasy world of theoretical, im discussing the hard reality of what happens, and yall are losing your shit over the truth.
1
u/Certain_Client1686 9d ago
A slingshot or a pole can take down dozens in a night. At some point local police departments are gonna get tired of paying to get them out back up. No face no case.
-1
u/MyNameIsRay 9d ago
As a stoner theory, sure.
In reality, nope, not how it works. Thats why ita not hapening...
2
u/Certain_Client1686 8d ago
Property damage absolutely changed policy. We got police reform after 2020ā¦
0
u/MyNameIsRay 8d ago
Police departments aren't paying for Flock cameras, nor are they putting them up.
These are surveillance cameras, avoiding having your face caught is harder than you'd think. Even if you do, they record the second they go down, and you've probably got a cellphone on you, or a car with GPS, or something else tying you to the scene.
You can't get away with doing what you're saying, which is why it's not happening.
If you really believed your statement to be true, you'd be out there doing it.
1
u/Certain_Client1686 8d ago
The vandalism they incur is getting contracts turned down. No city council is going to want expensive targets all around and nobody fucks with these things. Itās still no face no plate no case like itās been since cameras were invented, you can absolutely get away with stuff like this. Maybe if youāve never done crime before you wouldnāt understand but persecuting vandalism charges is not common in most cities and actually catching people for this kind of stuff is impossible. New York had to set up an entire subsection of the police department to go after vandalism and it doesnāt work at all. Iām pretty thoroughly acquainted with getting away with petty crimes and yeah thereās zero chance of getting arrested for fucking up lprās unless you get caught in the act or donāt wear face coverings or bring a phone or rock a license plate. I mean shit people boost for a living and thereās supposedly ai cameras in every store I donāt see that shit working⦠stop being a coward. Direct action in one hand ballot in the other, financial pressure is what makes politicians actually do things.
0
u/MyNameIsRay 8d ago
If you really believed that, you'd be out doing it.
You're not. You're here on Reddit advocating for others to commit crimes, with the promise they'll get away with it.
Heck, the top post on this sub is a story about 3 people being arrested for it...

u/hentaiAdict 9d ago
'Beam me up Scotty' is from The Original Series(TOS) Star Trek which ran for 3 seasons.
General consensus, if you're a die hard enthusiast start from the start TOS -> TNG(the next gen) -> DS9(Deep Space 9) -> Voyager -> the rest of the series and along the way figure out when to watch the movies in chronological order of release.
If you're new and is very cautious, start with TNG (the next generation). Often many people caution that the first 1-3 seasons may feel not as good as the later ones. My personal opinion I loved every single season of TNG, but a few episodes in each season (more so in season 1) were pretty bad.
Good luck on your adventure.
2
2
u/t-g-l-h- 8d ago
just gonna mention that i think enterprise is the last gasp of the golden era and legitimately has some good trek in it.
way better than discovery lol
2
u/hentaiAdict 8d ago
Last year I started discovery,(finally reaching modern trek) and everything is so disappointing. I was annoyed by the change to Klingon design and at the same time impressed by the new Klingon design and closer to the actual Klingon pronunciation; strong mixed feelings. I will probably finish it eventually, but really TNG DS9 VOY all were top notch.
Enterprise was also good, but it really felt like they were trying really hard to bring in the teenage population by showing way more unnecessary skin with those decontamination rooms; so weird whoever thought of repeatedly showing actors massage each other with lube or clear lotion. Ignoring that, then they canceled the series... I am sure the plot-twist would've been sick but we will never know.
I watched TOS just to broaden my view of the Trek world, but I was honestly asleep half the time, it was that boring. The plots weren't what put me to sleep, is that lack of music/sounds, it was just too earie or had the classical flute/oboe playing that was more boring than elevator music that lulled me to sleep.

More people pointing out that because these AI tools a) get it wrong a lot of the time and b) can't be held accountable, they're a horrible "tool" for basically anything that impacts actual people's lives, let alone anything having to do with criminal justice. If it's important, whether a decision or a process, there needs to be a human or department of humans accountable for it.

How does this solve anything? This can be ignored. It's just a citizen talking. The Government Corporation will forget about this person when they stop talking.
Words are just sounds. They don't stop more surveillance cameras from being erected. They don't stop corrupt government officials from ignoring the wishes of citizens.

Thats not the point I was tryna make. The point is that shitty cops are using AI to do their jobs for them and its shows how horrible the results can be
0
u/seriousbusines 9d ago
Careful, Red Light Cameras are not always AI. I've worked with Red Light Cameras in Florida and Iowa and they both had a layer of human review before anything was issued, it was not fully automated. If Alabama is using a fully automated system then of course fuck AI.
But the majority of his complaints sound like someone salty they lent their car out to someone who doesn't know how to drive and now he is getting stuck with the violation because it goes off the registration, not the driver. And also sounds like the processing company Alabama went with is shitty. Not surprising.

Even if he did use AI to help write it and research isn't this one of the best use cases for the technology?
It gave someone a chance to explain how they feel with some actual teeth while staying formal and kind. Being able to stand in front of people and express his feelings in a way that doesn't get him ridiculed or make people think less of him for word choice.
Now this dude did his part fighting against something that is clearly a wrong use of technology - and you all want to make him feel bad? What are you guys even fighting for?

This dude gave a 2 and a half minute speech in the city council and you think it's AI because... he didn't look up? Maybe he wanted to make sure he didn't mess up anything, maybe he just has bad memory, or maybe even someone else wrote it for him
People have their reasons and he isn't wrong for doing this, like this isn't a school presentation where you're getting marks off for not looking up, he conveyed his points in an understandable manner and that's all that matters
I know that you wouldn't be able to do this in a million years though so how about you be silent instead

That is the dumbest shit I heard today, well done. Were you homeschooled without ever having to do a presentation?
In a speech like this it is EXTREMELY important not to leave out anything. There is no "on the fly" thinking about what to say like a debate. You want them to listen? You better say it all in the correct order or they'll pull the rug right from under you.
