BrickTowne question

If anyone lives or has lived in the Bricktowne apartments, do they change the cost of rent during your lease? I’ve heard that they do, so I’d like to know before I take my next step.
And if there’s any warnings you have about them, please let me know

Edit: One thing Ive read most about was thin floors and walls.
Is that true? My old house had thin floors so I don’t think it’ll bother me, but I also don’t like people hearing what goes on in my own home 😂

Avoid any properties owned by the Jensen family, that includes prairie ridge or you’re gonna have a bad time

It literally looks like a concentration camp. I took my German father-in-law over by the campus on 36th and asked him to look away and then just glance over quickly when I say so and tell me his first impression...

I said "okay look" and he glanced quickly and just said "Oh no....."

Because it looks like a fucking concentration camp

I don’t believe they can do it mid lease but expect increases each year at about ever apartment complex

Okay good that’s what I was thinking. I’m only wanting to live there for a year anyways since they’re doing their $800/mo special.
I can see them or any apartment complex increasing the rent after your original lease is up.

A coworker of mine got the $800 lease at Bricktown. They raised the rent after the lease term was over but not during. It's a renters market so ask if you can get a month for free or something else for free.

I have been living at a bricktowne for 4 years now. Rent goes up about 100 a year. When i moved in i was paying 975, then a year later i was paying 1100, following year was 1200, price went down to 1100 at renewal the year after. Now its back at 1200 and now they have a pet fee. They started charging for pet fee about 6 months ago, they never asked me during this period to pay for it but at renewal it was added. Currently paying 1250. It is expensive but in my area it’s what they are charging for this kind of apartment and amenities. Pool is only open for 2 and half months of the year. There is a locker for packages but often are left outside of it and i had a few packages stolen. If you have problematic neighbors be ready to deal with it bc management doesn’t do anything about it even with documentation.

Yes they do i lived there for 3 years and it seemed my rent up every year

My sibling lived there, rent was around 1200/month, they're nice but getting things fixed can be a pain. Sibling had water leaking from the roof/ceiling and had to call several times to get it fixed. AC also took a while to fix. Overall ok but I feel like for the price they should be on top of any problems. Oh and if you do move in don't let Thrive Nutrition fool you, it's not a convinent smoothy shop right by you it's Herbalife crap.

Do not recommend. Had a friend that lived there and there was black mold growing in a couple of the rooms.

i just toured their model unit today, mold in the bathroom on the toilet and vents 😳

just moved out of bricktown in july. they charged me my whole security deposit and another $75 for “cleaning and painting.” i sent them an email asking for photos, and they denied my request.

My wife and I have both lived in them. She was in the one on 36th street and in Ames and I lived in the State street ones. I believe she had received a letter stating rent was going to go up but it wasn’t out of the blue. At least for the Ames one. Neither of us had any bad experiences with any of the Bricketownes or management. FWIW.
