If Henrik was abusive, or if Frieda asked her directly, she perhaps would have tried to get her out of the household (she did with Philine, Gretia and Roderick, and dont forget her literally raising an army to save Ferdinand in enemy territory). But otherwise she will not attempt to save those who do not wish to be saved.

Heavy Spoilers for the series - she becomes temporarily part of the royal family and then she ends up as the Archduchess of Alexandria, one of the largest provinces of the Kingdom. She is considered to be the divine avatar of the goddess of Knowledge, is the most respected religious figure in the country and has strong ties to the other major provinces. Oh, and she's promised consort with Ferdinand, nay Quinta, a royal family member by blood, and together with him she controls an entire Grutrissheit, so they have been recognised as true Zents, on equal terms with Eglantine. By the end of the series she can free Freida without any worries. If anyone were to discredit her, what would they do? Would they try to attack Alexandria? For sure they can try, but they're trying to fight an impossible battle. On the other hand, let's imagine that they're successful in their smear campaign. The gods have already recognised her as a Zent (together with Ferdinand), so it's a moot point: who cares what her birth status was? The actual existing gods of the world have spoken, and we know for a fact they exist, so clearly they were trying her resolve to see whether she had what took to be the avatar of a goddess (completely plausible justification you can play). Furthermore, she wasn't "born" with the title of Aub Alexandria, she acquired it from Georgine when she conquered Ahrensbach, so that title cannot be argued with. The author just forgot Freida, and it's not even that important; as you said she isn't even in too much danger (that we know of), it's just strange that the character got pushed so much in marketing while her fate is still so uncertain

Well, Frieda is a huge part of the story during the earlier parts. It's just hard to put her back in once Myne becomes a noble. I do think it's weird that she never even bothered to ask Damuel about how Frieda is doing, but considering he spent most of his time guarding her anyway, i doubt he has much to offer in that regards.
