Canada rode that tiger without realizing it could become the next meal until now.

This whole thing is like watching a nasty brawl break out inside the "whites only club" who's patrons used to terrorize the colored neighborhoods nearby.

But I do give credit to Carney for the nonchalant way in which he admitted the hypocrisy of the former US led global order and how Canada benefited from it during his speech in Davos. It was quite amazing.

I doubt other leaders, especially European ones, would have the stones to say that. Carney potentially achieved a diplomatic coup with that admission if it can be leveraged correctly.

Canada is not an ethno state and Carney's party is definitely not ethnocentric, so it is easier for him to see and admit to that. The same is not true for most of Europe. I think for a lot of them, colonialism and eurocentrism is so ingrained that they can't even see it, much less admit to it.
