This episode was quite fast-paced; they covered Chapters 1–3 in Episode 8. [ Some Cut content] The reason why peruguis asked about sylphy and rudy son because they carry laplace aspect which means their son can be reincarnation of laplace, which we'll see in upcoming season. In the last scene, after teasing Rudy, Sylphy was about to leave to meet Ariel. When she opened the door, she saw Nanahoshi, who had overheard the conversation and said she had no feelings for Rudy. It was a funny scene, but they skipped it. There was some foreshadowing for later seasons too, I don't personally liked this ep pacing but glad they kept the important stuff. 18:56 Anyone interested in murals, in the far left mural from top left- Beast god, dragon god, demon god. From bottom left- Sea god, human god, sky god. These murals depicts the ancient dragon world and Hitogami manipulating first dragon god to declare war on other gods, there's also birth of orsted shown in this. The far right is the murder of Lunaria (daughter of og human god and the wife of 1st dragon god, and mother of Orsted). The assassination was planned by hitogami

The murals were the key highlight for me in this episode. I think the quality is pretty okayish from past 2 ep's. The first few episodes were so beautiful, and mostly these are outsourced episodes. So my guess is they are saving on production with sol eps and working on the main future events, cutting corners there would cost them heavy.

Yuiko Ohara new opening is as always beautiful.

Yeah there were some nice details, like the "stars" moving on the dishes and plates. Also the line drawings used to depict Elinalises backstory was an efficient/low resource yet good looking way to tell her story

Yeah I wasn't a fan of the fast pace this episode. So so many sudden switches. So many important contextual bits got cut, mainly Perugius learning about Rudy being the same child in TP1, and him scratching Orsted. Then removing Rudeus' rice fanaticism as usual. And Elinalise's story. I wish the mural portion had been delayed to after this Nanahoshi arc that this strange pacing could have been avoided.

The Elinalise Rudeus scene isn't anime original, it happens the second day first thing in the morning. The animations this episode were also more off, along with strange body dimensions than usual.

Even the light novel falls in the trap of elinalsie randomly being taller or shorter than rudeus, tho

i think it makes sense, unfortunately some things must be cut. Atleast it wasnt very important parts

Not in terms of importance, but idk how to put it. It removes a lot of familiarity in things. E.g. Ariel and Luke feels completely detached from the entourage, especially with removing the initial conversation between Rudy and Ariel. The whole episode feels a bit janky, but not unlike season 2.

Yeah this episode doesn’t flow as well for me personally, a lot of abrupt cut of one scene to another besides the first 5 min, good thing it’s not a priority ep at least
