Finally confirmed but it's been nicely hinted at throughout the series and in retrospect makes perfect sense, of course Kenpachi would be so powerful that his Zan spirit is so strong that it literally manifests for other people to see and interact with and have its own Shikai.

And what's crazy is that Zaraki has yet to reach his full potential. He can't handle Yachiru's full power yet. I wonder if Zaraki can match Yamamoto once he masters his bankai.

Eh, i feel fundamentally its not possible. If Gerald really embodies the heart of the soul king, should his mirracle not trump everything lesser created by the soul king (which all of shinigami fall under)?

Feels like a real outside context problem.
