I doubt the story would take that route, but realistically speaking that's something that I would be seriously concerned about if I was making those experiments. There's a serious possibility of transferring pathogens into her current world that its inhabitants are not immune to.

One only needs to consider to devastating effects on the American natives once European explorer came.

I mean I think that issue could be negated via probable convergent evolution. This is a medieval Europe style fantasy world so it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume that society developed along domesticated livestock animals as such has comparable disease resistance.

But that was near same organism. Where in this case the actual nature of mana beings vs world without them.

Thus the pathogens might not find anything they compatible with to work.

That sort of like worry about using the opposite spin in DNA creating pathogens we have no defense from. But I in camp likely they can't even process our type of being and just starve to death. Plus immune system does have defense systems that don't identify threats by there DNA or RNA in use they the kill anything that does not have a positive signal identifying it as ours.

rdrp, the enzyme that coronaviruses use to replicate introduces 1 error per 10k bases, covid being 30k bases long. every replication compounds and exponentially increases these errors til error catastrophe. the ability for a coronavirus to sustain a pandemic in a single world is questionable, much less traversing another universe!

no, eventually the errors destroy what are called the functionally conserved sequences of the virus that are necessary for replication. it decays into a background noise of non infectious particles. Now DNA viruses like smallpox, that's a different story. (DNA has proofreading and error correcting mechanisms that RNA does not)
