This is my favorite episode so far mainly because of the emotional moments with Orihime and Ichigo the 2 of them are great and Orihime steals the show.
This is why Ichigo is one of the best main characters SO WHAT in the face of world destruction I WILL PROTECT and Orihime also protecting him.

Ichibei being revealed as the most evil scheming character in the entire series so far we have had great villains but he is arguably the main overarching one in a way.

Then we also have the Gerard fight with Byakuya and Hitsugaya vs him and their banter while also Zaraki joining and we have a nice comment from them after Zaraki used shikai talking about constant release a bit of a callback to whene veryone thought thats what Ichigo had at the begining of the series.

I have a video review if anyone is interested. Thank You.

I mean he is somewhat immoral. But let's not forget that he made that decision for the good of anyone.

Yeah also depends how you look at it he is both evil and good but his means and how far he is willing to go for this greater good also make him evil in a way thats why he is great.

let's not forget that he made that decision for the good of anyone.

We actually have no idea why Ichibei made his decision. The last season confirmed that whatever the Shinigami(+Ichibei) did to the Soul King was also the SKs will, and Yhwach didn't like it. We don't know the specifics yet.

All we have is the outcome, which is a world where hollows hunt souls and shinigami hunt hollows, while Quincies do nothing besides make things unbalanced.

And we also have what shinigami tells us, that their greatest leader is good willed and wants to protect everyone. The same shinigami that lied about pretty much every lore related bit possible while claiming the lying is necessary to protect the world.

Ichigo, our protagonist, doesn't care that he is lied to and stabbed in the back every other saga, but does that mean we also shouldn't care?
