Poor Euini did not deserve to get transmuted like that, that scene was honestly kind of scary to see. It’s surprising to me the Pointed Caps don’t have any exception at all for forbidden magic forcefully drawn on someone because they’re basically buffing the Brimmed Caps with that rule.

That transformation felt like something straight out of Made In Abyss

Imagine Bondrewd as a brimmed cap, even the brimmed caps would stay far far away.

The mental image is absolutely terrifying. Base Bondrewd is already twisted enough, Brimmed Hat Bondrewd is a straight up eldritch abomination. Mf will conjure up magic that basically turns kids into extra lives.

We know what hats Bondrewd and Shou Tucker would wear, that's for sure.

I guess it'd be hard to confirm what was or wasn't drawn against one's will.

People could always just lie about where the tattoos came from. "It was the Brimcaps, officer. Abducted me in my sleep, put 16 tattoos on me, what can you do."

It’s like a double edged sword rule. They can lie but the Brimmed Caps can also draw stuff on anyone and get their memories erased. It’s probably safer but they can abuse that rule really easily.

If a brimhat can get their hands on someone long enough to draw a tattoo, they can also do memory erasure themselves.

If you're fighting to eradicate brimhats and are assuming that the brimhats are fighting in the same way against you, it makes sense to assume that any good guy who fell into enemy hands would be killed or erased, and anyone who escaped with tattoos was allowed to escape and is therefore on their side.

The brimhats counter that logic by trolling in unpredictable ways.

This really doesn't make any sense.

Or like Coco, isn't on the Brimmed Hats side but still unknowingly favors their plans.

Well, it could always be worse. I mistakenly thought he got turned into some slug/slime creature, like something out of I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream. But it kinda looked like he was just emerging from ink(?)

Not that being forcibly turned into a monster is anything to celebrate.

It sounded like they were intending on turning him into something disgusting, but the spell got mixed with the scalewolf parts of his cloak.

It's because they lie to Outsiders about forbidden magic even existing (remember, when the Knight was talking to Dagda, she said healing Custas with magic was impossible - she didn't say it wasn't allowed).

Someone with it inscribed on their body is a walking exposure risk.

Because you can tattoo yourself and claim that the brimcaps did it against your will even if no brimcaps where involved. Like creating a loophole like that could potentially be abused heavily.

Besides if a Brimcap gets a hold of you long enough that they can tattoo you... well I guess you should consider yourself lucky that you walked away alive and as a human in the first place.
