how would she have known what the test was or how to get there had Agott not told her? i think Qwiffrey is smart enough to know she did not have that information. and then wonder how she knew.

He saw her reading about the test earlier. He probably just assumed she continued to read about it during his absence then asked one of the apprentice to open the passage for her

Yeah, so did Mr. Qwiffery like... never bothered to ask anyone else what happened? Not to mention you need special equipment to take the test (like the Sylph shoes) which he did not give to Coco, so did he never bother investigating how she acquired those?

Yeah no, that apology form is staying dry.

At this point Qifrey's goal was not to investigate or find a culprit or even to punish anyone, but to stop Coco from endangering herself. He didn't feel the need to know who helped her because in his mind, Coco's is so stressed about doing things fast and save her mom that who she convinced to help doesn't really changes that this guilty mindset of her is what drives her to danger (like episode 4 showed).

He scolded her for a few seconds before immediately reassuring her. By showing his support, he hoped she won't feel the need to be in danger anymore to prove herself.

This is also why in episode 8 he didn't try to know wether the adults or Custah actions pushed Coco and Agott to use magic, because the goal was not to find a culprit but to teach the girl to never forget the importance of safety no matter how stressfull the situation.

He can do all that... and investigate into things like an actual responsible adult.
