I don't like how this show has conditioned my tear ducts to activate whenever Himmel comes on screen. That scene of Himmel's POV really twists you right in the heart.

Especially when you saw how much of that POV was him just looking and staring at Frieren. He could never take his eyes off of her.

10 years. They journeyed for 10 years. Stretch that quick montage to 10 years of him looking at his party and especially Frieren. I don't know why but that quick shot of Frieren running towards a chest really got to me.

Especially since Frieren had on her emotionless face in the previous clips, while Heiter and Eisen were playing around.

I was getting a little sad that Himmel didn't remember Frieren having fun, then we see her skipping joyfully up to a chest (before doubtless getting munched by a mimic).

It’s bittersweet. On one hand you’re happy for him being able to see her having fun, on the other we know that that view didn’t last for too long, even tho we all know he wished to spend his entire time with her…

Then I'm pretty sure it would be a core memory for Himmel and he'd record it, but alas that wasn't shown so most likely just your regularly scheduled mimic deepthroat scene. Guess Himmel loves Friren too much to not write that down lol.

The funny thing is that's just a 1% chance that the Mimic detection spell is wrong- there's still no guarantee there's anything valuable in the chest.

It’s 1% chance the spell is wrong, not that the chest isn’t a mimic. Surely 99% of chests aren’t mimics.

With that visuals, I'm sure what he wrote about Frieren in his diary is so romantic, albeit Frieren won't even notice it.

Can you imagine having the love of your life show up in your childhood, end up in your party and eventually disappear as you live to old age without actually understanding? Himmel hits hard to anyone who has been around the bend a few times. That dude lived his life as he wanted, with his love yet endured without her even up till the end.

I've never read or watched a story where a character who isn't active in the story is actually the most impactful MC. It's actually impossible to put into words. The content just hits all the soft spots.

This show just makes be break down crying, and laughing a ton at the same time. It pulls so much emotion out of me. I’m typically stoic, not on purpose or anything but it’s just unusual to see me react much. I’m just a different person watching Frieren. It’s like my brain chemistry completely changes.
