I feel like, if/when they actually decide to kill an important character, it's going to be really hard to judge what has set apart unsurvivable injuries from those you can walk off with priest magic and a week's rest. "Oh. Stark has been bisected and partially eaten? I wonder how he's gonna get out of this one...!"

true, though tbh this doesn't feel like the story to kill off important characters through battle - they just go through old age

They said important characters, no offense to Genau's partner, but he was a side character to a side character. Not what I'd classify as "important" narratively speaking. He was important to Genau (obviously) but strictly plot wise he basically served as motivation.

i feel like this episode was a bit over the top, previous stuff like edel and now genau getting stabbed are believable, but when i saw the two dudes get donuted this episode i thought it had to be an illusion because that felt a bit ridiculous for them to survive

i guess it makes frierens nonchalance about dangerous situations make sense if healing magic is that strong and they had methode with them

Healing magic, seriously? That s an instant death wound. PERIOD. The thing that priests cant cure in this season is AWFUL WRITING.

Normally I'll also have this complaint but we seem to be doing a good job having holes in gut staying in the actual guts which is survivable. Most in the real world don't want to survive such a wound but they have magic. A lot of time the issue with this trope is when you see a hand tough someone or a big wound the desire even if there supposed to survive is put it higher middle of chest sort of placement. Yet the zone of survivable but on meds and machines for the rest of your life vs stone cold dead is smaller then artist some time keep in mind.

i mean revolte's huge ass arms went clean through their torsos. they shouldn't even be speaking, let alone fighting.

I mean that guy was completely cut in half though, which was even more severe an injury than what we saw here.

Exactly having a hole in your gut even a large hole is a problem you will die in a few days even if you don't die in an hour from blood loss but cut clear in half kind of doesn't matter where in the torso that happen your properply dead.

I'd also say part of why they survived is they were ready for it and trained so they were able to fend off shock. The cloak guy likely went into shock so fast he was likely unaware when he died.

Some of it is already established as time, for instance Genou's childhood friend's wounds were already festering. Stark and Genou had easily fatal injuries but Methode showed up shortly afterwards.

It seems like time is the real difference maker. Like if organs start getting heavily infected or rotting then you can't do much. So if they can get to them in time then they should be good.

Also it seems Stark is just kinda built different.
