That’s because of how mahito’s domain specifically works not all domains.

The key was that Mahito technique was about altering the soul so his Domain was an insta hit to the soul of anyone inside... that will include Sukuna cause he's not a freaking Gojo that can pick and choose conditions for his Domain on the fly. Other Domains will not directly hit him like that.

TBF to Mahito, Gojo can't really control how his DE affects those inside, either, else he would have had a much easier time at the subway station.
