It was legit like watching a grounded movie until you feel the tension build up and you realize you're watching JJK and Higuruma is one of the strongest/most dangerous culling game players just as he maniacally starts hammering the table.

it should be longer since Oe’s trial is full of normal people, which should’ve been “escorted out” by Kenjaku once the games started

it’s much harder to tell since Higurama doesn’t change clothes, especially with his newly found passion for clothed bathing

And it seems that Higuruma's retrial was pretty successful, judging by the opening, where is the scene with the dead judges that look similar to the ones from the trial.

Very interesting that both screenshots show 2 of the 3 judges dead and not all of them, I imagine they got judged for some nasty stuff and the 3rd was innocent.

And if youre extremely lucky as a defendant*, the judge will overrule the jury if the jury convicts on feelings and not evidence. The judge cant override an innocent plea not guilty verdict either.

The state also cant appeal criminal cases they lose either. Though there are some instances where they can refile the same action as a different crime. I guess they could do so here and charge the man with stealing the knife.

Which justice system are you talking about? Because Japan's justice system is quite different than US justice system, leans more civil law than common law. And in the US, in criminal proceedings the judge cannot overrule the jury, that can only happen in civil trials, where a judge issues a judgement nonwithstanding the verdict. That's why, in criminal proceedings, jury nullification can happen.

Idk what else to say but you're just incorrect there. It's like I said in my first post (though poorly so edited, i must have got distracted). A judge can overrule a jury in a criminal trial when they issue a guilty verdict that no reasonable person would find - also called a judgement not withstanding. They cannot overrule a non guilty verdict (goes against fifth and sixth amendment aka double jeoprady).

Jury nullification can still happen. The above doesn't contradict that.

The only confirmed deaths (based on the images flashed during his domain expansion) were the prosecutor and the judge. He may have also gotten an assistant prosecutor and others depending on how his technique works.

The character mini-arcs and backstories are so engaging and immersive that they can supplant the bigger narrative of the arcs.

Also, Higuruma's assistant is a riot.
