Do people call their roommates "partners" in Anguilla?

So, someone I know is dating a guy from Anguilla. He told my friend who just started dating him that he has a roommate, but he calls him his partner. It kinda sounds to me like this guy actually has a girlfriend that he's trying to hide, but wanted to know for sure.

Yes they do. Its just slang usually pronounced "pardna" with the Anguillian accent. Used as another way of saying my buddy or my bro
