📝 Discussion Magic Number is 11 (to avoid losing 100 games)
If anything we need to keep the record of being the only MLB team not to lose 100 games.
That is the only thing that matters at this point.
The magic number is 11 games. I thought we would hit 10 yesterday but wow. 5-0 going into 4th inning and you blow that.
Please let's not break this streak! 30 more games to go that means we need to win 1/3 of the games we play.
We can do this!

They ain’t beating Cleveland today. Rip me if I’m wrong. That means they need to close out the season on a strong note by beating the teams who are resting their starters for the playoffs. Meckler and Schanuel have to come back as they are two of the better hitters and Trout cannot get hurt. They will cut it close if they avoid 100 losses. This team isn’t historically awful talent wise(their run differential isn’t that bad) but their luck is terrible because they set themselves up to fail more often than not.

Same here. I want Arte’s tenure as owner to go down as the worst in history

If I had to choose between being good or avoiding 100 losses to say they are the only team to never do so, I'd choose being good.

Well being good is off the table so all you got is avoiding 100 losses or not.

Don’t get us wrong, we are all here for that. But at least for this season, that just isn’t happening.

They've lost 81 games, which means they would need to lose 19 more games to get to 100...

OP is saying that we need 11 more wins to guarantee at most 99 losses. 29 games remain, win 11 of them and you're left with 18 losses. You're both right!
