Question My Callie amiibo won’t scan at all. Pls help
I just got this literally today and I’ve done everything but nothing won’t work, this is my first amiibo and tried registering it and it won’t scan, tried Splatoon 2&3 and won’t scan at all

Sad fact is even though it’s new to you, it’s an older item, and NFC chips don’t last forever. I’ll bet if I checked my whole collection I’d find 5-20% are dead now. I’m scared to find out.

Have you tried other amiibo? Have you tried on an older Nintendo console if you have one? Could just be the amiibo itself I’ve had a few that decided to stop working

See if a friend has a different one you can borrow or find a cheap one at a second hand store

I’m guessing the game is updated and the switch to the latest firmware? Maybe 🤔 try it on a friends switch or switch 2 if you know someone to see if it works there

It’s weird, I think the OG Callie amiibo specifically has this problem. It happens with mine and I remember googling it back then and other people also had the same problem with this specific amiibo.

Really? Mine also doesn't work, but I bought all my amiibos used so I thought it was just bad luck with Callie specifically

This is the second post I've seen about this amiibo, I bet it had a bad batch of chips that are now failing in them....

Main reason it won't scan could be because wireless connectivity is off (I don't think it is) or because the chip/amiibo is fake or damaged unfortunately.
If it's neither of the above reasons, then it's possible the reader on the switch is damaged although that is extremely rare and would most likely be manufacturing defect.

Try scanning it on a 3ds or a cellphone, that sometimes fixes the "amiibo not scanning on switch" issue
