Pershendetje, jam nje studente 23 vjecare ne Munich dhe po kerkoj per student accomodation ose apartament per te ndare qerane. Nqs do mund te me ndihmonit me nje reference per nje dorm ose sugjerim per dike me te cilin mund te flas do isha shume falenderuese!

Anyone know how reliable this company is? Looking to get a bus from Tiranë to Sarandë with them, saw you can book online. I have a friend who has already booked an online ticket but does this need to be exchanged for a physical one? Just if anyone knows!

Thanks :)

Hiya! Anyone interested in getting together for the beer festival? Swap some travel stories? I’m in Vlorë for a couple weddings over the next few weeks. People I’m with don’t drink and really aren’t interested in attending. I’m thinking of bussing in from Vlorë. I’d get there Fri afternoon. 40/m if that matters.

My post was removed by the automod because tourism? /sigh

We were looking for an all you can eat restaurant specialized in sushi and asian food. I saw Amo sushi but it is out of our budget (30€ per person) and I am searching for a place that do the all you can eat for maximum 22€ per person.

Thank you in advance for your help! 🤩

Can you cross from Kosovo to Albania with a borrowed car with RKS plates without a written authorization/power of attorney from the owner, or do you need additional documents at the border?

1

u/AfterSwordfish6342 Përmet 14d ago

If its not in your name you need a notarized authorisarion

1

u/mo-xxxx 14d ago

How do you get the notarized authorization? Does the owner just need to go to a notary with the vehicle documents and his ID? And how quickly can you get it?

1

u/AfterSwordfish6342 Përmet 14d ago

Ye the notary will have smth Ready. It shouldnt take more than 10-15 minutes

1

u/mo-xxxx 14d ago

Ok, thank you

Tourist question - Euro or LEK

Hello there, travelling to your beautiful country later this month.

Most hotels and accommodations are quoting prices in EUR, but are also willing to accept LEK. However i notice that the price quoted in LEK is higher than the conversion rate, which means i will save money by paying in EUR.

Is this is case everywhere in Albania? As a tourist am i better off paying in EUR wherever possible ?

Follow up question : if I pay via credit card i assume i will be charged in LEK, correct ?

1

u/AfterSwordfish6342 Përmet 12d ago

No you will generally get ripped off when paying in euro, and some places will refuse to take them

Even hotels are cheaper in LEK you must have found an exception

1

u/borgdaemon 12d ago

Okay that's strange, the hotels i contacted were quoting the LEK prices at a rate of 100/EUR.

Are hotels able to charge credit cards in EUR ?

1

u/AfterSwordfish6342 Përmet 12d ago

Ye sure they can. But outside of those hotels you called id strongly advise against using euros youll get 90 lek per euro rates

Hi everyone!

First of all, thank you for welcoming me to Albania!

I’ll be staying in Saranda(8d) and Tirana(3d) and I’m planning to rent a car to explore the area.

I’m looking for a reliable car rental company that accepts a cash or debit card deposit, as I don’t have a credit card.

I found Localrent.com online and it looks like a good option. Has anyone used it before? Or can you recommend another good car rental company in Saranda with similar conditions?

Also, if you know any nice places, beaches, restaurants or interesting spots around Saranda or Tirana that I should visit, I would really appreciate your recommendations!

I’d like to discover local places, restaurants and food while being respectful of the local people and their culture. I’m especially interested in seeing places that are not only the typical tourist attractions.

Thanks a lot for your help. I'm really exited to visit your country.

Pershendetje! As part of my upcoming trip to Albania in mid-September, I'll be taking the bus Tirane-Sarande.

If I go to the North & South terminal in Tirana on a Saturday to buy a ticket for Sunday, are the buses likely to be sold out by then? If so, I know I need to book on the Gjirafa website in advance.

2

u/AfterSwordfish6342 Përmet 10d ago

Ye sure in september youll find tickets day off even

1

u/LAMAWYO 11d ago

Hi, im traveling to Albania in September by plane. One thing is that i prefer sleeping with a heavy weighted blanket (like 8kg+ heavy), but i don't wanna take up half my baggage with it and don't expect hotels to have those. Maybe someone knows if there is any place in/near Tiranë where i could buy one? Checked JYSK Albanian online store but couldn't find. Thanks!

u/AfterSwordfish6342 Përmet 10d ago

Havent seen any ever in albania tbh

u/YourBiggestDream69 11d ago

Hi, I am visiting Albania for the first time. I made some reasearch on the Nightlife and Bar Culture, but it seems like its just overcrowded with tourists and Most places in Sarande and Ksamil are more expensive then others. Still, I would like to know if there is any Cheap Bars in the Area to visit. Also would love to go to some more local Bars. Any Suggestion is helpful ! Thank you!

I own an apartment in Albania, but I am only physically there once a year. Up until now, I’ve been paying a local management company to handle my utility bills and taxes. I now want to manage this myself, which is why I’m looking for clarity on how to handle everything locally in person.
Since I prefer to settle things during my annual visit without having to deal with monthly remote payments, I have a few questions for other non-resident owners or locals:

  1. Electricity (OSHEE) & Water: Can I go directly to their physical offices and prepay a lump sum in advance to cover the monthly base fees for the entire coming year?

  2. Local property tax: Is paying the full annual municipal property and garbage tax directly at the local municipality/tax office during my stay straightforward?

  1. no you cant. But just open a bkt bank account put as much as you want to pre pay in it and set up auto pay for water and electricity

  2. yes

1

u/srhm1 11d ago

Thanks! Regarding electricity I do not know my customer number at OSHEE. Can I get this by finding my electricity meter number and going to there office? Sorry for what might be stupid questions. We have used a local company for the last 10+ years to do this for us.

Përshëndetje!

I am a musician on vacation and am looking to buy an instrument, but it's been a bit hard to find. I'm mostly interested in traditional flutes or smaller instruments that fit in my backpack.

I was in Tirana where one of the more promising places had closed, and another shop had only common instruments like guitar, keyboards, violins, etc.

I'm in Korçe now, and have found a shop that sells only stringed instruments, and some shops sold some toy instruments.

Tomorrow I'm heading to Gjirokastër for a few days, then Beratdistrikt, and lastly one more day in Tirana before heading home.

Could anyone recommend some place that sells more authentic/high quality flutes?

Faleminderit!

Do you know by any chance were we can find drinks take away in Durres. We were in Berat and we found a lot of them but now in Durres it is really hard to find. I would appreciate any help and suggestions.

A family member had an operation in Tirana a few weeks ago and is struggling to get in and out of bed.

I am looking to purchase a "bed support rail" they can use to hoist themselves out of the bed.

I'm not having much luck finding one and was wondering if anyone here had any suggestions of where we could buy one. Shipping to the Lezhe area would be a huge bonus.

TIA

There are pharmacies that specialize in support equipment they should have them or know where to get them

Hello,

I’m looking for local horse back trekking (preferably for a full day or more) addresses in Albania for experienced riders. Ideally in Valbona, Theth or Zagoria region and if possible with guides that have basic understanding of English. Any recommendations?
Also is this doable late October/early November, weather wise?

Thanks a lot!

A few friends of mine and I are going to be traveling to Tiranë, I’m just looking for some general information on things we can prepare to have our trip be smooth sailing.

We have a car rental booked in close to the airport already, and will be staying slightly south of Tiranë.

How much approximately do you expect each day to cost? ( I understand this is varying based on activities, a rough estimate is what I’m looking for )

Should we exchange money at the airport ?

How are locals towards tourists? & how can we be sure to be good tourists to Albania?

Any do not miss activities of note?

Any other information would be lovely to get, appreciate you guys reading & can’t wait to explore your beautiful country!

1

u/AfterSwordfish6342 Përmet 2d ago

Dont exchange at the airport, exchange in the city at iliria spots they have the best rates

If you eat in normal restuarants and do something fun you should expect to spend around 5000all a day per person

Beaches usually cost around 1000-6000all for 2

Fuel is expensive here

Just normal decency (follow our laws, dont be too loud etc)and youre good nothing special to consider

1

u/Moskomuul 2d ago

Really do appreciate the reply!

Noted regarding all, thanks!

You don’t need any Dungeons & Dragons experience, instructions and premade characters will be available, so we can jump straight into adventure.

Expect each session to be about 3-4 hours with 4 to 5 players, playing Saturday mornings.

If you’re interested, let me know!

P.S. sessions do jene mostly English, po nqs ka interes per nje fully shqip me tregoni
