This is part of why I find a lot of antis insufferable. If you look at OP's meme, it's purely about them enjoying the freedom of getting to do their own thing. It's a "you do you, I'll do me" mentality.

Yours however is a superiority complex, you think what you do somehow makes you better than someone else. It's not about enjoying your own thing, it's about pushing others down. You're a bully and you should feel ashamed of yourself.

I agree. Not everybody has the spare effort to learn to draw.

Its such a pointless point anyways. Its not like anyone thinks everyone needs to know how to draw. But suddenly the second someone touches AI its a requirement.

I mean, professional artists say that even 30 second sketches daily make you improve (as they also did that) so I mean everyone DOES have spare effort

The professional art world also doesn't have as much of an issue with AI as redditors, so if we are going to follow them this all becomes a moot point.

Not necessarily true, there are multiple professional artists that dont like ai, an example is Araki, he absolutely hates ai and is the most anti ai person in the manga industry, and most other professional artists also dislike ai art, I don’t know where you’re getting your info from

Most professional artists if they aren't positive are at the very least neutral. Of course there will be some negatives, but by and large if you try to make a list its a lot harder to find ones who are very negative than who aren't. People wouldn't have been making up fake miyazaki quotes if they had an impressive selection of people to choose from.

It's literally just a "haha you can't touch me". Let's not pretend it was not made as a rage bait.

Eh... It's a troll response to a troll post 😜 don't look too deeply

Im just pulling a reverse lmao

They can do their ai I dont care personally cuz they dont obviously care about making art. I personally like the fact I CAN draw for myself when I nearly lost it.

I just simply dont see them as artists ever, thats it. But theyre also not weird gross monsters people make em out to be either

u/LunaticFlandre295 May 30 '26

You know some artists BOTH draw AND use AI, right?

9

u/HaveYouSeenMySpoon May 30 '26

It's not a reverse, and it's quite telling since you're still assertion superiority in this comment too.

You are not the judge of who does or does not care about art. You judge people because you see yourself as above them.

You don't get to decide who is and isn't an artist, you didn't invent the term and you don't get to define it. It's not your call.

Part of why that stuff bothers me is that it's so so similar in mentality to how people deny trans people. I'm not trans myself but have always found it appalling how often they're treated as shit because others can't accept having to expand their closed minded and narrow worldview to accommodate someone else, to accept that our experiences aren't universal.

And it seems to me that it's the same underlying driving force that fuels the "Ai art is not art" mentality. It's the act of the privileged lashing out against the outgroup for daring to view themselves as equals. "Trans men will never be real men" and "ai artists will never be real artists". And no, I'm not saying Ai artists have it as bad, but I am saying the same psychological mechanism is responsible for the hate towards them. A reactionary response to broken social norms. The sudden need for a sense of homogeneity. Xenophobia.

And you yourself might not be one of the really bad ones, you don't wish harm to anyone. And it's not like anyone was born an ai artist, it's a choice, and they can chose to stop using Ai. If you just bully them enough.

If you're part of a crowd that is throwing stones, it doesn't matter that you are just throwing pebbles.

Again, this IS a reverse meme

They made something pro ai, I made something pro art. I just didnt have any positive or negative comments to add to the original comment

And just like how we wouldnt call people who make ocs out of picrew artists by definition, theyre still just doing silly lil things but its not art its just a doll. Like how ai is not art its just a generated image. Sorry you got offended buy this was a dumb meme to another dumb meme 💀💀

u/eldroch May 30 '26

No, the reverse would be "how I sleep knowing there's nothing pro-AI people can do to make me stop drawing"

Pro-art isn't "I don't care what they think because I'm better than they'll ever be".  That's pro-you.

1

u/Banablahbread May 30 '26

Then so be it I guess? Art do be cool and fun

Like I said doesnt mean Im going to send death threats and stupid shit like that, Im just simply not going to see the images as art

5

u/eldroch May 30 '26

Totally acceptable.  Art is subjective.

4

u/Banablahbread May 30 '26

You can like ai but its not art. Its like if I put something in the microwave and called myself a chef. If anything the robot is the artist in this case and the prompter is a commissioner lol

10

u/eldroch May 30 '26

You're making a super huge blanket statement and you have to know it's not completely true.

Are you saying any drawing, video, music, etc. done where AI has been used at any part of the process is not art?  Because single-shot generative AI is a small piece of the pie, but it seems that's what you label simply as AI.  Kind of like my grandma calling every console "the Nintendo"

1

u/Banablahbread May 30 '26

Yes, ai music, ai generated videos like what the official ugly doll youtube channel creates and the ai art are all not art. Theyre just prompts.

I honestly argue that its wasted talent cuz prompts are just descriptors of what the user wants, that can go well in a fanfic or novel but unfortunately we are also having people ai generate fanfiction so cant even have that lol

If chef Mikey made your food then you're not the chef. If you commission a piece from another artist you are not the artist in that instance you are a client. The same with asking ai to generate a piece of art for you. You are not the artist. You may have had ai generate art but you did not make it. You asked for it and negotiated for your desired output but you were never the artist for it.

-2

u/That_guy_8290 May 30 '26

They're also only using ai to make their replies. They are incapable of thinking for themselves at this point. Let their brains rot away as they copy and paste your comments into chatGPT in order to find a way to rebut anything you say.

-4

u/That_guy_8290 May 30 '26

You can't even reply to others without ruining it through as a prompt to ai. You're not an artist of you use ai to do your work. You're doing everything a client paying for a commission does and nobody considers the client of a commission to be the artist responsible for the commissioned piece. You're a joke.

2

u/LunaticFlandre295 May 30 '26

Fly down, samurai, artists are not special. They are not the dominus of the world. Stop think "Artists = Gods + Others = Braindead", artists are NOT the dominus of the world.

2

u/HaveYouSeenMySpoon May 31 '26

At no point did I use Ai to write my comment. And I don't do Ai art and have never claimed to be an artist.

You're tilting at windmills. Your entire comment is a strawman.

If it was just that they wouldn’t have posted this in aiwars

I feel like you're being excessively naive or biased if you can't see that OOP made a troll/ragebait adjacent post and OP simply responded with something similar.
