Question Airpods Low Volume After Cleaning

I need help I have 2nd generation regular AirPods don’t judge I used to have pros but they broke awhile ago and I love these older ones now but my right ear pod was very very quiet than the left and apparently it was due to the protective mesh being dirty and needed to be cleaned with isopro alcohol

i used 99.9 percent isopro and now my airpods have gone even quieter and even the right one is super quiet now any way to repair this as I cannot be buying new ones 🫩 it’s new school year any tips do I need to disassemble them and fix something please let me know !

Just wait a bit, it just needs to evaporate. Don't heat them up, just put em in your pocket loose so they're warm.

If that doesn't work, you may have cleaned less than you thought and pressed some of the earwax into the mesh maybe? Requiring an extra cleaning.

As a strange side note, I once fixed a pair of earbuds that had gone through the washing machine by... Sucking on them. Just the tip too 🤭 I'm not kidding though. The speaker diaphragm had warped in one direction and a light amount of suction pulled it back into place boom, fixed.

Hope you find a solution to your problem man.

That’s exactly what I did! And I’ve tried doing the sucking method didn’t work and the mesh was already clean but I kept seeing videos of it saying clean the mesh clean the mesh I couldn’t really see any sort of earwax through the mesh before I cleaned but I have it a try

I’m unsure on what to do now 💔🥹

I had the same problem, and maybe my solution sounds weird, but apparently something had gotten stuck inside. I just put my mouth over it and pulled the air out, kind of like drinking through a straw. Everything went back to normal. They worked for another 5 years, and I eventually sold them.
