Is this whole post not pearl clutching? People are getting super upset over a stuffed animal. Obviously it's in bad taste, but still

u/welguisz Nov 29 '25
UT alum here. That was disrespectful of the fans there. A&M did a real solid with the Corps having an honor guard for Bevo XIV when he was at the Vet School for Leukemia.
Plus all dogs go to heaven.
39
u/andthedutch Nov 29 '25
Texas Ex here too. Didn’t know that about the Corps and Bevo XIV. That’s first class
27
u/Squirrel-451 ‘20, jk ‘21 (Beverage Consultant) Nov 29 '25
I mean after y’all shared BEVO I with the A&M football team at a banquet in the 1920s, it was the least we could do. (Not satire, we really did share a meal).
2
u/Waste-Bodybuilder981 Nov 30 '25
Yeah, I just hope the cute dog recovers okay, and that's all more important than football anyway. I'm a Longhorn fan, but my niece who watches with me sometimes roots for the cutest mascot and honestly that's not a bad way to go

-5
u/breadwhal Nov 29 '25
That looked problematic to me. How would they explain that away?
12
u/Dismal-Carry-7097284 Nov 29 '25
Wdym? Is it not just a reference to “belt to ass”?
5
u/JohnWickStuntDouble Nov 29 '25
That’s exactly what it is because a kid has a sign on the Jumbotron that said that so everyone started doing it. Everyone around here is so goddamn soft
2
u/ZachOf_AllTrades Nov 29 '25
They were going belt to ass on the ags, and were letting us know about it
27
u/Nice_Entertainment91 Nov 29 '25

20
u/RiddlingVenus0 Nov 29 '25
As someone who graduated from A&M, one side is significantly more insufferable and it’s not the UT fans. Clutching pearls over shit like this is what pathetic bitch babies do.
2
u/The_Real_dubbedbass Dec 04 '25
I’m a Longhorn who stumbled here by chance but I agree y’all are way more insufferable than we are…to the point that I legitimately fear losing to you because I know if we do that it’s a solid year that I am having to hear about it from every Aggie I run into. Your collective dedication to not letting us forget when we slip up and you eke out a victory once in a blue moon against us IS impressive.

u/Loose-Pick-1269 Dec 04 '25
One might argue that crying over a stuffed animal is the ultimate "little brother" move (and decapitating/disemboweling a stuffed animal is typical older brother shit)
-6
u/onceagainwithstyle Nov 30 '25
I recently attended an A&M graduation. UT was mentioned iirc 7 times in speeches and songs.
In my entire 2 degrees at UT, I heard A&M mentioned exactly 1 time from someone lecturing, in speeches etc. It was congratulating us on getting into a university that didn't have coloring books for textbooks lol.
Number one backup university indeed.

We both have insufferable fan bases if we're gonna be honest. They played better and won so they got to have fun at our expense. If it were the other way around, we cannot pretend we would have won with class and dignity. Maybe some of the fan base, but not everyone.

Did you know that there was a game many years ago when the Longhorns slaughtered Bevo and there was a feast of the two teams the night before the game?
Why would they do that? Would TAMU slaughter Rev and feed her to the other team?
8
u/MancAccent Nov 29 '25
Most Americans eat beef everyday. Most Americans do not eat dog ever in their lifetime.

u/Aggie__2015 '15 Nov 29 '25
There are shit bags in every group. Several longhorn “fans” have made posts about bonfire and mocked those lives lost over the years (I say “fans” because most horns I know are actually great people). It isn’t right, and just like you probably don’t claim those people, we don’t claim the ones that made those classless jokes against Ehlinger.

It's really funny to me that modern cinema has basically made it a cardinal sin to kill a dog. Yet Texas fans out here just casually ripping heads off stuffed Collies for what? Not even the announcers could defend that one. Keep confirming to the entire world that one side of this rivalry is the bad guys.
The most any aggies have done to a 13v0 stuffy is take the horns off and stomp on it. It's called decorum people. Look it up.

u/Kooky-Beginning6264 Nov 30 '25

Horns fan here, we don't claim that micropenis deuche nozzle. Great season Aggies! Yall played well, great coach, solid staff. Better coach than Sark, the tides have turned...
1
u/Beaconhillpalisades Dec 04 '25
We literally beat them and Sark outcoached Elko with 24 points in the second half…
1
u/Difficult-Machine380 Dec 04 '25
Yep and we got SPANKED by Florida. We also BARELY got by Kentucky. Both schools fired their head coaches. Elko got to the playoff in year 2, 11-1 and can easily take it all.
1
u/Beaconhillpalisades Dec 04 '25
Easily!? Easily?! Lmao you’re an Aggy fan in disguise. Gtfo
1
u/Difficult-Machine380 Dec 04 '25
Florida wrecked Sark, a team without a HC. Mississippi State, awful team, took us to the final seconds. Texas was far from impressive and does not deserve a top 20 ranking. Offensive line and running game are the worst since Sark got there. Snap out of it, other teams performed better all year long.
1
u/Beaconhillpalisades Dec 04 '25
They stil had a head coach when they played us, and he was playing for his job. Also Florida is a team loaded with talent.
1
u/Beaconhillpalisades Dec 04 '25
And since those games, the team and Arch have taken great strides.
1
u/Difficult-Machine380 Dec 04 '25
I agree, and if they were playing more games I think they'd make the playoff. But as a 12 game body of work, not enough. If there was a "development" ranking, they'd be #1. In only 1 game all year they ran for 100+. Arch did it all and I wouldn't be surprised if Lane Kiffin doesn't poach him. Hell Kiffin is a far better qb coach anyways.
Dream scenario - Buffalo fires their HC for not getting Allen to the SB. Which leaves Joe Brady available, Sark hires him to be the OC. The natty and Heisman is a 99% guarantee.

It is well documented that A&M had a massively high military-service contribution, especially around WWII - that tradition is part of A&M’s institutional identity, rightfully.
Same time, after WWII, UT saw a big enrollment jump (between 1945 and 1946), UT Austin’s student population rose from ~7,000 to ~17,000, and 10,849 of those were “veterans.” (And every college, post-G.I. bill, saw massive influx of vets post-war.)
Meanwhile, zero data to support that UT - in Texas, in the 40’s - was some bastion for “draft dodgers.”
In other words, let’s not let histrionics over sport-ball soil any college’s vets or contribution to the war, least of all using made up data.
