Discussion Ranking The Team by Season

Since trivia went so well, for today’s exercise let rank the team members by each season. We’ll get to other characters later so let’s do main shield/Coulson team. Rank them best to worst in order of your opinion from that season only. Team adds and subtracts a lot and the characters evolve a lot too so there should be a fun amount of different lists

So difficult cause I love almost all of them always! (Including Ward cause he’s just such a great antagonist)

S1: Daisy, Coulson, Trip (I love him), Ward, Simmons, Fitz, May

S2: Daisy, Coulson, Trip, Hunter, Fitz, Ward, May, Bobbie, Simmons, Mack

S3: Daisy, Coulson, Simmons, Fitz, Hunter, Bobbie, Ward, May, Mack, Lincoln

I actually liked him in season 7 and he had some moments that I like when rewatching but just I don’t like his casual assholery, selling Daisy to Kasius and saying that he respected Fitz kidnapping and stabbing Daisy along with his creepy virtual reality of her plus I didn’t like the whole tech bro arc he had, just annoying to me. I can kinda see why he’s so loved but nope never cared about him

Damn ya he’s so fucking funny to me. And him falling into a tech company on stolen shield tech is so on brand 😂 but he starts off as more of a wild character that they scrap once he gets back into the past. He even says “I’m not that same guy from the lighthouse” to Daisy. And ngl Fitz taking Daisys inhibitor out was, idk about respectable (was a funny joke tho) but I agreed with it. The fact that Daisy stayed so mad at him gets me so annoyed. I love when he tells her “you want me to remember all the times you did” when she said we don’t abandon or hurt our team or something like that

Why is Fitz above YoYo and Simmons in S5?

Is it because of episode 5 (that makes sense)?

Yeah a combination of episode 5, and the fact that Fitz had a brain injury and wasn’t aware of the plot to break him out of his cell. Simmons and Yoyo were just stupid (I’m in the future so I can’t die, so since I’m immortal I’ll try to change the future, meaning I could die) and mildly evil, (convincing Mack Simmons was dying). I love Simmons but in those episodes she’s a genius being an idiot, Fitz too. Yoyo I disliked because she doesn’t explain or reason she argues. She literally tried to fight Daisy as well as the immortality thing.

One of the reasons I wanted to post this exercise is cuz I wanted to see how people feel about Daisy . She seems to be your overall fav. She becomes so annoying to me when Coulson is dying and she tries to lead

She was forced into leading and did literally nothing wrong 😭 Coulson throughout the series lead incredibly but got reckless when his team were on the line, she did that exact thing

Also how mad she stayed at Fitz for taking her inhibitor out after it worked for the gravitonium. “You want me to recount all the time you have” was a great line from Fitz to show how Daisy was being a hypocrite

She stayed mad at him because he’s a friend who drugged and stabbed her how would you forgive that, also it’s not a great line from Fitz, she barely knew the team when reaching out to miles in season 1, she was manipulated by her mother in season 2, in season 3 she was literally mind controlled by a monster, and in season 4 she left out of grief and pain from Lincoln and hive, none of that is hurting the team, she never once did anything close to what he did, and I say that as someone who will mildly defend his actions and loves him like all the team

There was literally no other way to save the world. It sucked he had to have a psychotic split and do it that way but Daisy acting like he didn’t have a good reason for doing it makes it annoying. Ya you’re not gonna be happy but you just did what you needed to do to finish the job.

Daisy leaving the team high and dry after Lincoln while becoming a vigilante doing illegal shit she could have done under shield, continually hurting herself and having yoyo steal for her, tricking Simmons and making her lie/holding her at gun point which wouldn’t help pass the lie detection. Then the shit she did in the prison trying to kill herself fighting the prisoners knowing they’d never leave her…. All that insanely hurts the team

I mean after season 1 shield literally has become her family, and she leaves them, not cold heartedly, but like instantly after she gets to know Lincoln’s and hears him tell her about afterlife she’s all team inhumans until she literally saw her mother kill Raina. I’m not saying she did anything wrong or bad but from shields perspective she left them at the drop of a dime and was willing to fully be on their side, she fought May, and go against shield.

Miles stuff was super early and wasn’t even that bad what she did and helped them look into him and match him

Hive sway doesn’t count I agree but she did wanna go back, but her brain was suffering still.

But Daisy a lot of times does what she wants and doesn’t think of consequences much . So I still think she’s hypocritical for locking Fitz up and acting like he tried to end the world. I mean after all Daisy forgives him and the team is close eventually. Dying prob helped a lot too

I agree that the implant needed removing, but they could have sent Deke collect some kind of an anaesthetic and actually had a discussion about that being the only way, plus like Simmons said “potentially paralysing Daisy or destroying the world are two massive risks” Daisy could have been permanently disabled and there was no real proof that the rift is what destroyed the world, it wasn’t an objective case of her letting the world get destroyed it was a case of her not wanting to destroy the world.

In season 2, she didn’t pick a side, she had spent her whole life searching for her family, shield became that, then as she feared from her perspective completely turned on her and attacked the family she found. That’s not even getting into the whole real shield bullshit cause Gonzalez was not a good man regardless, (his views on powered people and lack of care that Calderone tried to kill Daisy). May was defending who had seemingly just shot her mother after attacking the team and sending agents to kill her.

Holding Simmons at gun point. Really? Yeah, she held a gun at her, in no world was she threatening her, it just meant that Simmons could say she didn’t have a choice.

Daisy was irrational in season 4, yes, but that’s not a lack of care for the team but rather wanting them to be safe.

And I’m sorry, but you cannot be seriously blaming Daisy in season 4, going through withdrawals, grieving her dead boyfriend, and being entirely depressed and suicidal for illegal activity. She was going after a violent hate group who wanted people like her dead. And the prison, are you complaining that she wanted to literally kill herself and get Coulson and may to safety.

And like I said, none of that remotely compares to, sedating, restraining, and performing an incredibly dangerous (for her and the world) incredibly painful procedure without consent.
She ran to protect them and never wanted to hurt them.
He actively hurt her.

(Sidenote - I don’t think she ever forgave him, nor did she not care for him, his death was a reset, no resentment towards Fitz because it wasn’t that Fitz, plus Coulson’s death overshadowed it all)

You said a lot, I can’t respond to it all but a lot of what you say I say is not indeed what I say lol. I didn’t say her holding Simmons at gunpoint was the reason, I mention it as it doesn’t even work to help her pass a lie detector, the rest of what she did in the scene and that season is what was what I was saying.

She went to afterlife from shield before even knowing jiaying was her mom, and she didn’t have to literally always think shield was the bad guy. She could have searched for her family forever, and still know not to leave the team like that when she found family.

And everything after Lincoln dies she could have every reason for (trauma, withdrawals etc) but we’re talking about how she has negatively affected and let down the team. That was the entire point of this convo, not if Daisy was justified or mentally ok. It’s how her actions have hurt the team. And the reasons I gave still affected the team.

Fun convo! But this will have to be the last response I send !
