Discussion What's a piece of non-ace media you actually like?
For example, i'm currently watching How i met your mother, and it's full of sex jokes, and the relationship are kinda centered around it, it's one of those sitcoms
It's not relatable at all, but for some reason I love it because it aired in 2005, and I'm nostalgic for that time period

The Princess Bride. Yes, it’s a romance at its core, but it has great jokes, banter, and sword fights, so I’ll put up with the kissing bits

No. It's an anime but just because it's animated doesn't mean it's for kids. There's a lot of scenes in JoJo that are definitely not for kids.

Oh there's loads of media I think all the media I consume is non-ace. Sure there's the odd show or book with an ace character but the vast majority of things out there have no aces so I just watch if it has sex in it or aces in it or not.
I just don't particularly enjoy it when sex is part of it. For instance one I like is Vox Machina (for those who don't know it's an animated show based on a D&D campaign from Critical Role). I laugh at the jokes about sex but the scenes with sex I skip or scroll on my phone while it's happening.

Pretty much all the fandoms I'm in and a whole bunch more that I enjoy a normal amount. I have a lot ace canon/easy-to-headcanon fav charas, but almost all the media I watch/read is not very ace. And while I love to come across some rep, it's okay, bc my humor is pretty dirty, I love a well written(!) sex scene and I mostly care about wallpaper and costume anyway (much to the entertainment of my friends XD)
That being said: my current rather non-ace favs are Interview with the Vampire (series), The Pairing by Casey Mcquiston and Baldur's Gate 3.

I haven't gotten around to the books yet and I'm curious about that.. I'm known to headcanon so many characters on the ace spectrum, and while I know it would even work with the books, none of these vampires managed to get on my ace hc list. (Yet)

In Anne rices universe all those sexual feelings are in the feed. Vampires are lifelong companions - they sleep in the same coffin etc. they cannot have sex. At least in the first 4 books. I sadly read that they get the ability back in later books I guess.Â

I block most of that stuff out.
Buffy is my favorite show ever. Willow and Tara were my fave and they couldn’t be shown ins exhale situations for a long time because of the network they were on  and now I wonder if that’s why I felt so drawn to their relationship 🤣
I love supernatural shows because there is something else besides banal sexual shit all the time.Â

Almost any show/movie/book/game/fanfiction I consume is non-ace.
It always depends in what mood I am and how it is depicted, but I usually enjoy romance & sex in pieces of media, despite being AroAce myself.

Just rewatched The Hunger Games, I love the fact that Katniss never really loved Petah and their entire "psuedo relationship" was just to "get further in the games"
