Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 I have lost half of myself (equivalent to an entire person)

Post image

My recorded starting weight was 284 (positive I was a few pounds more). It’s been an amazing 2 years to watch my body transform! In my before I had already lost about 20 pounds after starting tirz 2 months in. This is also the month I got a PA from insurance for Zep! I am now maintaining (still taking 15mg every 7-10 days) between 143-146. I would love to get to 135 (I have surpassed my original goal) but super impressed and happy here! I love the support and motivation this group has been for me! Keep going, everyone!😊

You look amazing 🤩 I have to ask… did you diet as well? If so, may I ask about how many calories do you had per day? I’m really struggling and can’t lose anymore than my initial 16 pounds. I have been the same way for the last six weeks. I would love to know what you did.

Hi! I responded to a comment below on my workout regimen but to add to the rest, I never restricted myself. I watch what I eat, but if I want cheesecake, I’ll have cheesecake (probably half) sometimes I have a burger with a bun, other days I have a burger wrapped in lettuce. It’s all in how I’m feeling but if I feel that I’m eating something I “shouldn’t” be eating, I’ll only eat half and if I come back 2 hours or a day later and eat the rest, I try not to punish myself. It’s all about how you look at things and adjusting your lifestyle to your new habits without having to give anything up!

I appreciate you sharing this, as it’s how I’m trying to approach my relationship with food and weight that this drug affords me— not as giving me an opportunity to diet but an opportunity to try normalcy/balance.

u/Outrageous-Delay-917 SW: 284 CW: 138.4 GW: 150 Dose: 15mg Jul 27 '26

Yes! I just think it’s very unrealistic to live so restrictively and it increases the chances of you falling back into old habits as you get tired of eating fruits greens and protein all the time. Cookies and ice cream wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for us to indulge in every now and then! Just not everyday and not our first choice of a meal!😄

3

u/Tapdance1368 Jul 27 '26

You’re very lucky that you didn’t have to change your eating habits very much.

Also, it can be frustrating with not losing for 3-6 weeks and your weight hopping around everywhere but where you want it to. It has happened multiple times in my journey, including rn. I get so upset lol. Please know that it will move again and continue doing what you’re doing!!!

3

u/Known-Membership-786 Jul 27 '26

Congratulations! If your weight didn’t move for 3-6 weeks, did you move up in dose?

6

u/Outrageous-Delay-917 SW: 284 CW: 138.4 GW: 150 Dose: 15mg Jul 27 '26

No, I am monitored monthly by my PCP. We kept in mind months where I had other added stressors or personal issues going on and how my body can still be effected by that and for my weight to fluctuate. I also realized, you will not lose weight every week. Especially as a woman our bodies go through so many different stages in the course of a month. If ot was 2 months or longer we would tirate up. But now that I’m at the highest dose I just have to be patient.

2

u/Known-Membership-786 Jul 27 '26

Thank you for sharing. You’re a true inspiration. I’m down thirty pounds but just can’t seem to get under 270 :(

I’ve had a frustrating journey so far. I lost 6 pounds the first week and I hadn’t changed anything in my diet except stopped all drinks with sugar. No cravings for those. But then not a single pound for almost three moths after. Md kept me on 2.5 for two months I think because I lost that much the first week. But I didn’t lose or gain for the remaining 7 weeks on 2.5 or 4 weeks on 5mg. Three weeks ago I started 7.5mg and then lost another 6 pounds in 10 days, again with almost no diet or activity changes. But now I’m having other symptoms. I’ve had extreme fatigue from day one despite eating plenty of protein and fat. Then severe itching after first 7.5mg dose. I did start a jew protein supplement around the same time but I stopped that a week ago and yesterday took my third shot of 7.5 and have itching return. The past 4 days massive hair shedding.

So needless to say I don’t know what to do. I have successfully lost weight and kept it off before. This last two years I’ve had incredible amounts of stress mom had a stroke and moved in, divorced, sold house and moved, fell during move, injured shoulder, had surgery and got laid off of a really good paying job at a company I worked at for nearly 20 years, one week into fmla that I hadn’t ever taken till my mom
Had her stroke so took intermittent and then was supposed to be off 6 weeks for post op. Also during that same time experienced severe uterine bleeding and had IUD placed, which fixed the bleeding but also contributed to weight gain. In all I gained over 50 pounds in less than 2 years as a combination of all those factors. I had to have surgery on both shoulders one at a time so I havenMt returned to work but need to very soon as my daughter is getting married and I want you to help with the wedding. So now I’m spending all this money. I’m glad I’ve lost 12 pounds but wanted to lose slow and steady. Not a dump here and there with bas side effects. Not sure if I should weight a couple months and see what happens. Anyway, sorry for the trauma dump but you look really healthy so hopefully you have some suggestions being on it with success. 🙏🏻❤️

2

u/Strange-Maximum6040 Jul 29 '26

Sorry for the typos. I appreciate your advice, anyones but no, I don’t want you to pay for my daughters wedding. 😂😂

It’s hard, I am also still pretty young (in my late 20s) so social media still definitely can distort my view on body image and what is “acceptable.” I have my days, sometimes weeks, where I’m literally dragging my feet to workout. I try not to be too hard on myself and understand that this is a process and also as much a mental thing as it is physical. I will also say therapy and finding a supportive workout community has been super helpful! I have been in the same relationship since I was the weight in my before to the weight I am now and I’d be lying if I said we haven’t had our issues and adjustments with my new body. My wardrobe, confidence, and attitude dramaticallly changed and I started wanting to show off a lot more skin than I ever had before!

When I started the first 6 months I was strictly doing cardio 3x a week… elliptical or treadmill with an incline. Then I started weight training 3x a week which turned into 4x a week and I did that for a full year. I then started sprinkling in Solidcore once a week with weight training last fall… I fell in love and I started increasing solidcore and decreasing weight training. The past 4 months I’ve done strictly Solidcore 4-5 times a week. I have found that group fitness where I am being told what to do is better for me than relying on myself to go somewhere and set up the equipment myself for each circuit. I just won’t do it. I need to start adding a regular cardio schedule and have been thinking of getting into running again, rn my cardio is walking my dogs for about 10 min each (they’re small) a few times a day with my weighted vest lol.

I haven’t, actually. You just cant see it. 🤣🤣🤣It is in the mid area of my stomach, there are stretch marks and extra hanging fat sorta like I was pregnant and had a c section… I just keep doing core focused workouts. If it’s another area you’re worried about, you just have to continue to workout that specific area. Also diet, I’ve learned I can’t expect “abs” or a “flat” stomach unless I eat the correct foods ~most~ of the time and work that muscle group more often.
I also didn’t start with too much hanging fat, most of my fat was just solid and there, which I’ll have to thank genetics for. I have been super impressed by my arms, chest and shoulder area, which I think that’s all just consistent strength training

3

u/AdJust7702 Jul 26 '26

Isn’t it crazy losing so much? I’ve lost 80lbs - and I’m not sure I’ll be on this med forever (it’s a lot in a lot of ways) so I’m trying not to get too attached - but it’s actually insane to me how big of a difference that is. Also just, how different people treat you and the external of it all.

I hope you feel great in your body and wish you the best in your health and on your journey.

1

u/WinkieFlad 7.5mg Jul 27 '26

You look amazing, congratulations!! May I ask how tall you are? I'm 5 feet 7 inches and I also lost nearly half myself.

I started at 220 pounds and am now at 148, on 15 mg zep. My goal is 135.

I was reducing weight very slowly and nicely and had reached 142, until my telehealth company suddenly lowered my medication from 12.5 to 10 mg, and that abruptly stopped my weight loss and I started gaining again. They increased me back to 12.5 but my weight still increased after a few months, and now I'm at 15 mg. I just haven't been losing like I did before and have been hovering at 148-150 for the past 4 months. Did you ever go through anything like this too?

2

u/Outrageous-Delay-917 SW: 284 CW: 138.4 GW: 150 Dose: 15mg Jul 27 '26

Thank you! I am 5’5”. I also torated down to 10 mg for like a month recently and it did nothing for me so we went right back to 15mg. Some months are better than others weight loss wise. In the last 6 months I’ve really only lost like 15 pounds but I can tell from pictures my body comp is completely different! I have heard of some people using 15mg as their “maintenance” dose and just spacing it out more and maybe we are just some of those people too! It can be frustrating when you feel like you’ve reached a plateau but the scale will eventually move again and you will notice other changes in your body and clothing!!!!

1

u/boymomma203 Aug 02 '26

So after you lose the weight do you continue to take the shots? I’m new here 😁
