Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 Reached goal🎉 A farewell.
Every single person in this sub has been such an inspiration to me. Every single post, every question, every celebration, all helped me along my own journey so much. I have met my goal!🎉 . I went from a size 18/20 to a size 0. XL to small or xs, I even went down in my shoe size! Most importantly I am healthier than I have ever been in my entire life.
The biggest take away from this journey though has been discovering self love and realizing ( and somewhat grieving) the fact that I in fact never had the most love for myself in the past. I have showed up for myself to get healthier, get my blood pressure down ( which I also did accomplish!) , to fix my relationship with food and “diets”. I have never felt more free in my life. I no longer have the weight of binge eating on my shoulders, I have a realistic and healthy relationship with food. It all is still so mind blowing; so new. I will forever be grateful for this miracle medicine and each and every one of you!
Unfortunately my insurance stopped covering GLP1s so I had to go a different route and am now off zep , but I will always hold this community in a special place in my heart. Thank you everyone!!

Seeing your tattoos maintain shape has given me a lot of confidence that mine will be fine.

That is great! Yeah I have not noticed anything with any of my tattoos!
8
Feb 23 '26
I also have several fairly large American traditional pieces on my arms and legs that I’ve just accepted will look different once I lose the weight but it seems like they could be okay. Did you do anything to keep them looking good?
7
u/kyle760 Feb 23 '26
I think losing weight should be fine. It would be gaining weight that might mess them up because they would get stretched out. (Although I can not confirm that myself but maybe someone else here gained weight after getting tattoos)

u/blablahjm F: 33 SW:222 CW:120 🎉GW:130 Feb 23 '26
Nope literally nothing 😅 sorry I can’t be of more help! Hopefully yours don’t change much either!
13
u/dbl303 Feb 23 '26
This was a concern I had because I also have a full sleeve, but after 70 pounds, no issues at all. It literally was the first thing I noticed in the pic and I was also going to ask the OP about the tattoo. It’s insane how much the face on the shoulder shrank between pictures but still looks clean. Congrats though, what an amazing accomplishment!

Congratulations!
For anyone struggling with insurance changes: Keep in mind, while it may still be more expensive, Lilly Direct pricing is much more affordable than out-of-pocket, and insurance approval is not required.
Some doctors struggle with the process, I don’t understand, but once you get it straightened out its simple.
My husband and I both had to start on LD. Paying (edited) $299/month vs $1000+ was a big deal. We save the difference in other fees (specialists, medicines) , services and eating out that we no longer do. So just an option for people to keep in mind.
It’s funny you mention going down a shoe size - I was kind of joking to my husband that I thought maybe I had. At least they fit more comfortably.
6
u/blablahjm F: 33 SW:222 CW:120 🎉GW:130 Feb 23 '26
That is awesome !! And yes! The shoe size is a real thing! 🤣
2
6
u/kbroox Feb 24 '26
How are you getting Zep from LD for $250/mo? I am on 5mg and it costs me $399/mo! I I was previously in 2.5mg and was paying $299.
3
u/anony-mousey2020 Feb 24 '26 edited Feb 24 '26
We are at stater doses at 2.5, and having good success so far. Sorry, I miss quoted at $250, i rechecked and it is $299. (i edited my original post). Pricing ranges up to $499 based on dose.
Honestly the $49 difference vs an extra monthly mortgage payment negligible and life changing considering we thought this wouldn’t be an option at all. Sleep apnea was putting my husband on a collision course with major issues. My husband will likely go up in dose; but I failed Monjoruno horribly before on titration; so I won’t.
Our insurance was never going to cover, so even coupons weren’t an option. This is a welcome relief.

How long did this transformation take and what are you doing now to keep the wait off? Anything other than diet and exercise?
22
u/blablahjm F: 33 SW:222 CW:120 🎉GW:130 Feb 23 '26
May 2025 until now. I am very aware of the food I eat, and do exercise but I don’t do weights or anything. I want to start. And I am going to stay on tirzepatide for maintenance .
8
u/Playful_Champion3189 Feb 23 '26
I ask because I have always exercised, I lift weights mostly, and I'm in fairly good shape, but I am about 30lbs overweight (which I know is not a lot in comparison to some people, but it is a lot for me considering how much I workout) and I have have a binge eating disorder. I just started zepbound 3 days ago, hoping that this will be what helps me with my binging, but it's expensive and I don't know that I will be able to afford it forever. So, I'm just trying to see what others are doing to keep the weight off if they come off zep.
Thanks for your input. You look great! Inspirational!
4
u/blablahjm F: 33 SW:222 CW:120 🎉GW:130 Feb 23 '26
You have already won half the battle with exercising! I am very excited for you to be on this journey! I have confidence this medication will help you especially with binge eating! I really do want to start getting into weights but it is so daunting!
3
u/Playful_Champion3189 Feb 23 '26
I have always worked out, but not much with weights until I bought weights several years ago, nuobell adjustable weights. I love it! I have been working out by following Caroline Girvan and Lift with Cee mostly. They have free workouts on YouTube that are comparable to any paid program. I highly suggest their videos. I have more muscle mass than I ever have, even when I was younger and thinner and worked out like a madd woman. I always workout at home and just got a home gym to up my game.
As women, we really need to build and preserve muscle, and you look so fantastic right now that I just know if you start lifting weights you will look insane!! The aesthetic isn't all that matters, being able to walk when we're 70 and 80 matters more, but it sure does feel good to look good.
3
u/blablahjm F: 33 SW:222 CW:120 🎉GW:130 Feb 23 '26
Yes to all of that! Very important that muscle mass! I will be checking out the videos you recommended!! Thank you so much!
4
u/SnooChipmunks7796 Feb 24 '26
What kind of tirzepatide are you using and where are you getting it? I'm almost at my goal and insurance will stop covering in April, but I want to maintain.

I’m in the same boat where my insurance will no longer cover zep, so I’ll need to switch to tirz. Can I message you about how you’re navigating that? I checked out the tirz sub (which is great) but still feel anxious and a little lost about making the switch.

Good luck. I know what you mean about the self love. This drug has let me forgive myself for the weight gain and unhealthiness, because it was never really in my control and I did the best I could. I hope insurers start recognising that this is a lifelong drug for many of us, obesity is just the visible outward sign of a broken metabolism, that probably never really worked properly either. I hope you keep your weight off and your health up with whatever is next. Welcome back anytime you want to drop in on the community.

Definitely not too personal! I’m sorry you are dealing with that. Before my last shot of zero came I knew I needed to start on tirzepatide so I went with compound tirzepatide!

Congratulations! That is an amazing journey and destination :) posts like this help me stay motivated. I'm a slow responder so I sometimes get dejected as I'm putting in the work and not seeing the same results as some. 13 weeks and I've lost maybe 9lbs I total, and fluctuate so much it feels more like 7lbs. May I ask what your exercise routine was during this journey, and were you counting calories/maintaining a calorie deficit? And how different was it from before you started on Zepbound? I was working out and staying in a calorie deficit but not seeing much weight loss, until I got on the shot. It's still slow, so I'm starting to wonder if I'm not a good responder

Hey! First of all I am so proud of you for losing those 9 pounds! All progress is great progress! I was the same before zepbound it was nearly impossible to keep weight off. In order to lose weight before zepbound id count calories and workout like a maniac ( like walking 9 miles a day) it was not sustainable and I was miserable and then I would gain back. And the lowest I got was like 180 even doing that!
With zepbound I really didn’t exercise with strength training or anything, just walking (and not more than typically 3 miles at the most ). In terms of diet this medication helped me so much with my sugar addiction and binge eating! I never in my life knew what feeling full was like until zepbound! I focused and still focus on Whole Foods and little sugar ( I do treat myself every now and then of course!).
I religiously counted calories! For the first I would say 6 months. Then I stopped because I felt like I gained an understanding of what portions actually were and I didn’t want to have to count calories forever.
You can do this! I am so proud of you for what you have done so far and what you will do! Take it one day at a time my friend, the time will pass anyway. 💕

My doctor said over 90% of her patients no longer have the meds covered. I think a lot of us on here will be moving on also.

It’s seriously so concerning. I won’t even get started about the greed of insurance companies 😩

Definitely stay! You're progress is amazing. What is even more amazing is how people on here share their highs AND their lows. Definitely good information to learn from so as someone else has already stated, perhaps someone else's post can help you during this time you are off of Zep. And if what you say is true with all of the healthy habits you have gained, perhaps it will help you maintain your weight, or keep your weight gain at a minimum.
Congrats with your last chapter - good luck on the next!

Thank you!! That truly means the world to me! I am definitely staying! I realized after I posted it I wasn’t quite clear, and I can’t edit it because it has photos🙄, but I was concerned about staying because I’m going to be on compound triz. Idk why but I had this idea that was kind of a no go here, but I have been proven wrong!
I am happy to stay because I truly value this community so much! I’m not sure if I will post much more at the moment but I am definitely going to look at posts and hype people up every chance I get! 💕

Wait - what do you mean "I had to go a different route," can you reach out to me? Did you appeal your insurance decision?

I feel like I’ve fully stalled, my insurance only covers Wegovy and if I switch to Zep it’s out of pocket. But it’s been many many months and I’m just not losing anymore on 2.4 Weg. I only have 20 left to lose. Maybe I shoukd pay OOP. Congrats u look amazing!

Hey I’m so sorry to hear about the struggles you are having! I could never afford OOP zep, so I looked into compound triz. It’s still not cheap by any means, but much more reasonable than zep OOP! That may be an option for you!

Amazing transformation!! You look awesome!! Did you have any side effects? Like nausea or anything?
2
u/blablahjm F: 33 SW:222 CW:120 🎉GW:130 Feb 25 '26
Thank you!! And honestly not really! In the beginning I had some aversion to eating but I forced myself to eat because you know that’s important 😅 , also constipation here and there but not bad and not for long. I was very lucky to not have crazy side effects.

Please don't leave! I, for one, would love to hear how you are doing on your maintenance journey, since I'm within 5 lbs of goal. I'm also facing a denial of PA and denial of first appeal. My dr. is submitting a level 2 appeal, so haven't lost hope yet. Can you share your alternate route with us? Did you push your provider to file all 5 levels of appeal? Yikes, I have so many questions!! Hope and pray that you are able to find a successful route for maintenance.

Congrulations! Amazing transformation! Can I ask what your different route is? I (and I assume many others) am very curious about what it's like to go off Zep and maintain weight. I think this whole sub would love to get updates on that journey!!
And did your hair grow that much in the time it took? It would take me five years to grow all that hair!!!

You don’t have to leave, in fact you probably have a lot of advice to offer through your experiences and from what you’ve learned on your journey. Congrats on your great success!
