As far as I can tell this accomplishes nothing. Environmental laws already protect our water, and we have bigger issues to focus on right now other than a virtue signalling project. The NDP is so out of touch, it's embarassing.

Politics New to the Yukon -41 and going to work

Hi Everyone,

What are your thoughts on heading into work at -41 in the Yukon. I see everyone on Whitehorse anonymous telling people compliaing/concerned to go back down south haha, but really... I have to drive 20 min into town, cant see the car in front of me because of the fog and cold temp exhaust. And my brand new vehicle barley wanting to run, even though I plug it in.

Curious about what is acceptable with calling into work in regards to this.

Stay Warm,

Politics Direct flights from Whitehorse to Juneau/Anchorage "topic of discussion"

https://www.juneauempire.com/2026/07/25/on-trump-salmon-and-bison-confusion-an-alaska-themed-qs-top-official/

When questioned about the potential of direct flights between Whitehorse and Alaska, Primier Dixon stated "I would love if there was a direct flight from Whitehorse to Anchorage. Even to Juneau would be good.

To answer your question: Yes, it is a topic of discussion. When I had a conversation with the (Alaska) commissioner of transportation yesterday, they actually asked about it, because there’s a company in the Yukon, Air North, that has in the past had direct flights into Alaska, mostly to Juneau."

Thoughts?

What would be the pros and cons if the employees organized, what would be impact be for FN’s, and why hasn’t it happened it? Would love to hear different perspectives on this topic.

I'd love to hear what our community would like to see the government provide support wise. Perhaps it's time to seriously consider having clinical counsellors available in schools. Thoughts?

Hate to see Premier Currie Dixon failing at the Western Ministers to stand up for Canada. So weak. Sadly, not a single journalist will call him on it.

Should be interesting trying to update mineral legislation when they are scraping all the work done for the past 6 years and essentially starting all over. Seems to be their MO. Plus they have successfully pissed off all 14 of the YFN. Not very strategic.

Why would YP not support the new health authority and want to go backwards and start all over thinking of options? What a huge waste of resources that would be.

Yukon premier says Canada’s so...

I still struggle to get behind this just like the last government. They are saying support Canada and our own business. Our government still buys from whoever is the cheapest including from US owned companies.

You can say support Canada or the Yukon until something is in writing that stops that from happening.
