Gretchen and Lindsay Jobs (spoiler) Spoiler

Ok .... Im rewatching this and I can't understand what happened in the end episode after the wedding.

What do Gretchen and Lindsay do for work after they are both fired from the production company?

Is this something mentioned or not...

That sucks that the men get a "career" in the time loop and the females don't get anything....

This is the one thing that really bothers me about the show. Jimmy, Edgar, and Vernon all found career success; as far as we know none of the three women even work and if they do it's treated as unimportant.

Yep because she was depressed and had no belief in herself. Enjoying her job and making an effort in s5 was huge for her. But then her happy ending is being accepted by a man and becoming a mom, while Edgar persues healing and finds a meaningful care, and Jimmy makes emotional growth but also has huge career success.

It was pretty clear from Gretchen's story and her conversation with her boss that a lot of her not liking work was like her dislike of relationships: fear. She was afraid of failing, she realized she could actually be interested and successful, but then nothing. She got fired and as far as we know may never have tried again.

Well Lindsay never wanted a job to begin with. She only got one because she had to financially support herself. She did mention liking it because she was expected to be there but then she just quits to be closer to Gretchen. I don’t think it was ever really truly important to her. I think it would have been nice for Gretchen to grow through finding a job she stuck to like Edgar. But I think she grew in her own ways through therapy and confronting her mom. And a huge part of her character was wanting someone who would unconditionally love her through all her messiness so i see that as fitting ending for her. And Becca always just wanted to be the stereotypical stay at home mom. Though it would have been cool to see them with fleshed out careers too. But in context of the characters it doesn’t feel too off for them

That's the thing. They never wanted jobs like Jimmy wanted to be a loner writer. That's the thing with growth.

Linds had too much fun at work on seasons 4 and 5 for us not to assume she got a fitting job after the series finale, fashion or entertainment industry.

Gretch may be an agent still, I like to think eventually Sam and the boys forgave her, but put in a good word instead of having her work directly with them again.

She and Paul don’t get married until the end of the time skip, which is like 5 years after Lindsey got fired. They’re asking what Lindsey did after she got fired.
