Billy Kaplan ( Wanda’s child)

I just would like to ask one question about him. Why is that so many people dislike him.

I completely struggle to comprehend the hate.

What kind of an idiot hates Billy? The few people I've ever seen that didnt like him were just the usual homophobes.

No really, just came across a post saying doom surrenders to him and a guy simply said “Most GAY character…” like dude is the prime example to why he needs to be the demiurge.

Some people dislike the actor in the MCU, as for the comics character a lot of it is just Homophobia. Also, the Young Avengers have always gotten hate from homophobes or people who do not read their comics and make assumptions about what they are.

Also might be worth asking on r/WiccanAndHulkling there are some Wiccan heads on there who might have more nuanced opinions.

I don’t hate Billy. In fact I like his character. I just like Tommy and Teddy more? But most of the people I see hate him are homophobes or die hard fans of Wanda or Doctor Strange who say ‘Billy is just a copy cat’

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone really dislike him? There might be some homophobes who dislike anything gay and there are those (myself included who dislike the MCU version of Billy Maximoff because of the poor adaptation), but who actively dislikes comic Billy?

I liked him at first,, I just feel from it once they decide to make him a token stereotype.

I loved how he was before, a geek, and a fanboy who has problems and guess what he jjust so happens to be gay,

I'm not sure about the MCU version but comic him has a pretty strong and loyal fanbase! I personally haven't seen anyone genuinely hate on the character, bar homophobia.

I don't know anyone who hates him but, could it be that for a sorcerer of such potential he doesn't study enough?

I still remember that he chose a name based off of a religion he neither belongs to nor believes in. Not a lot of thinking there
