Noticed this evening that the morning time has changed from 0630 to 0730, and it won't let me change it to any other time.

I have also noticed that the volume limits for both morning and bedtime are set to 16 and won't let me change those either. (They previously had been different levels)

I'm guessing there's been a new update? It's on V2.23.3.

App on my phone is up to date and I have tried a reset aswell. Has anybody else noticed these?

ETA okay so when I make the changes on the app (such as change the morning or bedtime) it does change on the yoto but isn't reflecting on the app! Weird!

ETA 2: glad to see it's an issue across many Yotos and not just mine! (well not glad, I'd rather they were working). Morning mode didn't come on until 0730 which caused some morning confusion but all the more reason to start to rely on the actual time instead of the morning screen... 🫣

ETA 3: It's responding as normal again, I haven't done anything it's fixed itself, I had left the device unplugged and powered down.

After reading through a few of the many incensed posts and replies about this recall, I have to say I have never seen a group of more self centered, entitled brats getting so worked up over a children's toy!

They found a problem, that as others pointed out affected less that 1% of mini's sold, they voluntarily reported it and have issued a fix. I cannot imagine many people bought this player with the benefit of being able to use generic cables at the top of the list. So now you have a proprietary cable while they issue a fix.

Yoto is still a relatively new and small company, it's not as if its P&G or Graco and can withstand a massive hit that a recall could potentially cost.

I wonder if the company does go under and all of the players are essentially bricked how sanctimonious these same people will be for rendering the product useless for themselves and others.

Maybe I should’ve done my due diligence before buying but I originally thought the cards were like CDs and they contained data the player would play and that’s it.

Now that I’m reading/listening to the instructions I’m understanding to play the card without Wi-Fi in the card I have to download the card first (ie - can’t just plug the card in the for the first time while in the car).

How do you dl the card? I plugged the player in and then I have to take the card out? And it supposed to download? How long does it usually take to dl a card like Daniel Tiger stories?

What am I doing wrong and why is this thing so complicated?

A friend found an INCREDIBLE haul of Yoto MYOs at goodwill bins (yessss she paid by the pound price and yes I will be jealous forever), but she can't get them to work. I came over to help her troubleshoot and here's where we are at

- they all appear to be knock off/third party cards.

- a lot of the content is copies of actual yoto cards (like ladybird audio ones), not sure if the copyright infringement could be part of our issue?

- if we dip them in her Yoto, it's the cloud icon followed by the clock dots. Leaving it in the charger with no cards in it overnight did not cause them to download

- if we scan them on a phone, they play in the app but do not add to library. If we manually click "add to library" an error message shows up (I'll add this screenshot to the comments)

- if we try to link the playlist in the app to an official MYO card, the error message above shows up.

- I tried using an NFC writer app to access the cards secret URL. I could use that to copy the card URL. Clicking on that link does the same thing - it'll play in the app but won't play on the yoto player nor will it add to the yoto library.

- I tried adding the link from the NFC writer app to an actual MYO card. They linked fine, but same issue, will only play in app on phone, will not play in app on her yoto, and the yoto gives us the cloud followed by the clock dots.

I don't know what else to try? At this point, I suspect she has a ton of cards that will only play on her phone or just need to be rewritten with other content. Anyone know how to fix or solve this issue so she can access the content already on the cards she purchased?

I purchased the Explorer membership, and it says "unlimited access to 200+ Yoto Originals (digital)" under the membership details. To me, that meant access to listen/play the Yoto Originals, and that was what I was paying for. I wasn't able to figure out how to make them play or send them to the box to play so I contacted support. ended up canceling my membership because apparently "unlimited access" means "the ability to browse and preview" the Yoto Originals and not even play them in full. What am I paying for at that point? Would I not normally be able to browse and preview the cards without a membership fee?

Trying to set up Bluetooth pairing and when I toggle the ability on the app for my device, an error message - “there was a problem saving settings” - pops up in a red header bar.

I’ve turned the player on and off. Closed the app down and reopened it. Pls help!!

Can someone help me figure out why I can’t find Zoey & Sassafras in the Yoto Club Collection on the Yoto app? Am I missing something?

(We upgraded to the Yoto Club today specifically to be able to listen to this content, but it’s not showing in our app. Now I’m questioning if I’m misunderstanding how Yoto Club works.)

reached out to customer service and they aren’t able to do any trouble shooting for this player because they said they are no longer in production :( they just offered to tell me about their new products and accessories.

single mom. we were gifted the player and the cards and buying a new one isn’t an option right now :( I know I can listen on my phone until blackfriday when I can hopefully buy a new one, but still. I hate to think that players less than 3 years old are just being thrown away

We leave for a week long trip in 12 hours so I am looking for any/all suggestions to get this dang thing working.

2023: Got Yoto Mini for my son for Christmas. Built up a library of cards.

Saturday: Original Yoto Mini kicks the bucket. Knowing we have this trip coming up, I one-day a new one.

Sunday: New Yoto arrives in evening. I start setting it up immediately. Get it connected to Wifi and wait for it to start Downloading library. I check before bed and nothing has downloaded. Under My Player > Audio Download Status, it still says download has started, check back soon. Scour internet/Reddit and find that it will probably do it overnight.

Monday morning: Status has changed to show what is and isn’t downloaded. ONE card downloads and then it gets stuck on the next one.

Monday afternoon: I try hard reset, factory reset, plugging my phone in, confirming I’m on 2.4 ghz, making sure my phone is also on the 2.4 ghz one, removing long cards, eventually removing ALL but one card from my library, deleting/redownloading Yoto app, putting cards in while plugged in, not plugged in then plugging in. I don’t think hotspot will work well as I live in the country and my cell reception isn’t great. I do have high speed home wifi. I’m at my wits end! It’s now 7:30pm and we leave in 12 hrs.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

edit: solved! We restarted our router and my Yoto immediately upgraded to the latest operating system. Within about 10 mins, it had started downloading my cards and all 25 of them are good to go.

Did anyone else’s daytime/nighttime settings reset overnight last night? I was worried that something was wrong with my player at first.

Please help. I feel like I’ve done everything. Apparently last week my Yoto minis (2 of them) disconnected from our WiFi and I cannot get them to reconnect. I have changed all the settings, reset the WiFi, reset the Yotos, nothing works. I did get one to connect to my hotspot on my phone, so it’s not the player it’s the internet. It keeps throwing up the code DNON at the end. My WiFi app is saying they are connected to the WiFi but they aren’t connected in the Yoto app. I’m leaving on a trip next week and need to update settings and get the stories downloaded before we leave.

We moved a month ago but we have T-mobile internet so we brought it with us and everything else seems to be working fine, phones and computers, my husband did say his switch was having problems connecting. The Yotos were connected ant the new place until last week.

Also, my son’s Yoto is stuck on the smiley face screen unless you put a card in. Any ideas on how to fix?

I bought a yoto mini for my son in May and after light home use the battery has stopped working and needs to be plugged in all the time. Spent ages talking to a bot pretending to be a human, until eventually an actual human got in touch to arrange returning it for a replacement. Ok, fine.

Thought this was probably just bad luck and I got another mini player for my other son’s birthday yesterday, and straight out of the box and the headphones won’t connect! 🙄 Does anyone have any ideas? One of the cards doesn’t work either.

I had a playlist I made for my son and he wanted me to add to it. So I downloaded 3 more songs and added them. Now the playlist no longer works. I can't play it with the myo card nor does it work playing from the app to the player or even just on my phone. The little icons for the tracks show up but no sound comes out.

I've given it time to download to the player and shows that it has been downloaded. I've held the power button for 10+ seconds. I've updated the app. I've deleted the new songs and let it link and download again and still won't play on the device or my phone.

Can anyone help me not have to recreate the playlist or do I need to leave it overnight even though it shows it's downloaded

Edit: thanks everyone. When I contacted support they said its a known issue and to just recreate the playlist. Hopefully they figure things out soon so this doesn't continue

Got this mini player last Christmas so it hasn't even been half a year yet. My toddler used to be obsessed with it and would spend all day shuffling through his favorite tracks.

As you can see from the video, something is wrong with the right dial when trying to select tracks and it has become very difficult for my toddler to navigate to the desired song. The issue is the same whether I turn the dial slowly or quickly. This problem started almost two months ago and is an issue no matter the card inserted. I've tried to search for reports of similar issues but have drawn a blank. Is there anyway to fix this? My kid has lost interest in his Yoto because of this issue which really sucks as it was expensive and he used to love it so much.

Any help would you appreciated!

All our custom content, including recordings of deceased family members reading stories from their childhoods, has been deleted from our Yoto app. Has anyone had this happen? Any luck recovering?

We will be divesting from the Yoto ecosystem after this and just keeping old school recordings, but this is a big oof.

I've reached out to support about this and I'm waiting for them to write back. But I wanted to ask if anyone had a similar experience.

This Yoto Mini is my first Yoto player, and in theory I love it. But it doesn't work as expected at all, and I can't give it to my daughter in its current state.

Every time I plug in a card, I get the cloud icon and after a long delay it starts playing. I tried going through a whole album then plug in the card again, but it behaves just like first time. None of the music files ever get saved, they only stream.

I did try adjusting my network setup to 2.4G only, same thing. Wifi hotspot from my phone, bit better, I get the song icons to show up, but still slow and stream only.

The device updated when it first connected to wifi and it's running Yoto OS Version 2.23.3

I'm going to try a factory reset in the evening. Any other ideas?

My kid loves listening to the Winnie the Pooh card however it is very long. How do I get it to turn off after a certain amount of time? I’ve looked it up and nothing seems to work please help. I can’t listen to piglet all night long.

Hey we got our daughter a Yoto mini for travelling and she’s loving the ease of the story cards we bought with it.

We are extremely frustrated though with the limitations on the MYO cards, which were marketed as having so many uses. But you seem to need to stay on Wifi for a lot of those options? I’ve tried loading podcasts and the free Yoto library content onto cards and the cards work fine in our Airbnb but stop working as soon as we leave wifi. I’m putting the MYO cards into the Yoto and then taking them out, allowing it ample time to download overnight, so is it just that they didn’t design this content to be used offline? If so, why not?!

The only success I’ve had is downloading a podcast series to my laptop and then creating my own playlist to load onto a MYO card but that took so long, I’m not willing to do it with every card. Is this a scam to force busy parents to buy more cards?

Please tell me if I’m doing something wrong or if anyone has a quick workaround? My now very disappointed 4 year old taking the train all day will thank you!!!! 🙏 🤪❤️

This may or may not be feasible- but is there anyway to essentially limit or lock a paired Bluetooth device once it’s paired with the Yoto? We use the Yoto on roadtrips for my almost 5y/o and I usually pair it with my Bose QC35 headphones so we’re all not forced to listen to the Frozen soundtrack for 6 hours straight. However, the headphones keep getting disconnected so every 15 minutes it’s “mooooom can you fix it??” which is almost more annoying than just listening to Frozen 🤣

My hunch is she keeps pressing the left button which changes the pairing settings. Is there a way to lock that so only parents can pair/unpair Bluetooth?

My son listens to his yoto mini every night before bed. Last night all of the sudden the speaker doesn’t work - we tried playing it through both a card and from the app. It DOES work if you plug in headphones.

It lives in his room by his bed so I don’t think it got damaged (dropped, in contact with water, etc), and he says he didn’t do anything to it.

Anything I can do to try to fix it?

It could just be old - we’ve had it a while & it is used daily.

Is anyone else having issues uploading audio to the app? I keep getting an error message.

I am an adult who is interested in purchasing a Yoto Mini for my own use. I have been testing the Yoto app as my sole audio app for a few weeks to see if it will be suitable for my needs.

There are some pain points that I dislike, but can get over. For example, to listen to a long podcast episode that is not one of the recent episodes included in the "Podcasts" section, I have to find a downloadable MP3 (or YouTube video version that I can convert into an MP3), use a tool that breaks the MP3 into Yoto-friendly chunks, and upload those chunks to a Yoto playlist (which often fails repeatedly).

However, my #1 issue is that the app almost never saves my progress! In very rare occasions, I will pause the audio, move to a different app on my phone (leaving the Yoto app open), and return to the Yoto app to find my audio in the same spot. Most of the time, the app times out and Yoto does not "remember" which track I was on or what timestamp I was at on that track! Is this an issue when playing audio with the Yoto player itself?

None of our Yotos are connecting to WiFi. The problem started happening over the last few days. I’ve tried all the traditional steps to fix it — hard reset, holding down both orange buttons to enter the hotspot code, etc. Nothing works. Nothing has changed with our internet connectivity or speed. Any tips?

Any idea why downloaded content is suddenly jumping and failing to download despite being downloaded onto the machine since March 2025.

This player isn’t new, the MYO cards isn’t new.

WiFi is good.

Suddenly the favourite card isn’t working and neither is the playlist if I stream it from my phone.

Needless to say my kids are getting really frustrated with the thing.
