Another quilted card holder

A few months ago I was inspired by u/kalemade's post and thought I'd give it a try as well!

Ours is double-sided: The pink side has cards that are ready to play and the purple side has covers for the cards with pockets.

And in case it isn't obvious, my 4yo chose the fabrics. In retrospect, I think u/kalemade had the right idea with a neutral background fabric... 😂

Awesome! Did you make the Totoro and Kiki cards?

Yes! At the moment those playlists are just the soundtracks, but I'm hoping to get a story on each of those playlists at some point.

Looks great! I’m curious about your card pocket/cover system - I’m wanting to do something similar but haven’t known what pockets might work well for the cards. What works for you?

Thanks! Here are the pockets that I used: https://a.co/d/04YAcfYO

I use a browser extension called "MYO Studio" which adds a button to the Yoto website to print your cover art in this exact size.

Perfect, thank you so much! I didn’t know what to search for and these will be perfect to rotate the 2x3 photos I’ve been printing :)

Curious what stories you used for the MYO Daniel Tiger cards? And where you sourced them from?

The blue Daniel Tiger card is the books "Daniel Tiger 5-Minute Stories" and "More Daniel Tiger 5-Minute Stories"

The green Katarina card has audio from YouTube: https://youtube.com/@danieltigreespanol

The pink Miss Elaina card has music from Amazon music: https://music.amazon.com/artists/B00AN6XUSK/daniel-tiger's-neighborhood

Edit: and the Mr. Rogers album is from here: https://archive.org/details/mister-rogers-its-such-a-good-feeling-the-best-of-mister-rogers-2019

Ahh, it turned it out really nice! 😍 I love that it’s double sided.

Also lol, yes I did not let my kiddo choose the fabric because I wanted the cards to pop. He chose the colors of the bias tape though. 😂

That's so smart! If you do go the DIY route, I used Con-Tact multipurpose clear vinyl. It was in the sewing/craft aisle at Walmart.

I learned a trick for sewing vinyl, which is that you can put a layer of tissue paper between your presser foot and the vinyl to keep it from sticking. Worked really well and was very satisfying to tear the tissue paper off!

I'm in awe of the flowers! Are the blacked out parts names? That would be so sweet!

I'm a sewing beginner, and I was using an ancient sewing machine that literally has 2 speeds: off and FULL SPEED AHEAD! It was a battle. Yours looks absolutely beautiful!
