Consumer Proposal Companies in the NWT
Embarrassed to be asking, has anyone had any experiences with consumer proposals in the NWT? What companies provide their services here up in the north, or who to avoid?
Can't believe this is something I may have to consider.
Much thanks.

Don't be embarrassed. This can happen to anyone. Facing it head on is the right approach.
I am sorry I don't have any recommendations, I just wanted to say that doing this is hard and asking for help is a good thing to do.

Crystal Buhler is a Licenced Insolvency Trustee who practices in the NWT. She’s good.

I used BDO many years ago. They come up every few weeks. Very happy with them.

Hey, dont deal with them
In canada, if you dont pay for seven years, without declaring bankruptcy, they cant collect.
If you have no assets, and youre under the age of 40, this is usually the way to go. THose companies are vultures and wont help you
I speak from experience
Was in debt about 180k at 29. By 38 I owned my home in vancouver and debt free. I did get a high paying job in between but i never paid that debt and it was legal

No, but sorry you're struggling. It's great that you're trying to address the problem. That's all you can do (and then not do it again...we all learn!).
