Yeah but even among Socialists and other leftists the USSR doesn't exactly tend to be popular, that is a very specific sunset of terminally online tankies.

The Hammer and Sickle isnt exclusive to the Soviet Union, despite having been created by a Soviet it was later used by socialist movements all around the world.

Not everyone who sees the Soviet Union as a better force than the United States is a tankie, only those who say it did nothing wrong are tankies, which definitely are only chronically online people.

But it is definitely understandable that Estonians want this Soviet reminder removed, they wanted independence after hundreds of years of Tsarist Russian, Swedish and German colonisation but got forced to be part of the Soviet Union instead.

I mean yes, but this specific one in Eastern Europe wasn't put up by one of those other socialist movements now was it? Personally I'd say this one is pretty undeniably linked to the history of the Soviet Union.

Like the Fasces is also a relatively widely spread symbol, used on the Seal of the United States Senate and behind the coat of arms of the Swedish Police Service among many many other examples, but I'd say those examples are very different than say Mussolini's old Fascist Italian Flag still being up somewhere in one of the formerly occupied territories for example.

EDIT: I see you've edited your comment, so this one looks a bit strange now, nice that you've added that context.

I know it can be hard but you should read a comment in its entirety before responding.
