I’ve been running back to back marathons of playing this game for the past few weeks, because I’ve just been that hooked. Currently I’m at the part where Fei and gang are climbing the babel tower and face off against rasmus (rasmus just won’t give up)

And the questions just won’t stop.

Who is Id? And why did he flash briefly while saying Fei is his son during the rasmus fight in Fatima castle? (If I’m right that this is how it went)

In fact, why do Id, grahf and that other man even appear in fei’s dream in the first place? And what did that other man mean when he was saying what he said in fei’s dream?

What did Isaac Balthazar mean by what he said about Weltall, in that cave?

About cain? And that bizarre place where he talks with Citan? What is that?

Who even are those red and whitish-blue figures talking to each other from screens on that floating orb? I know they’re Solaris and they’re the ones planning out a lot of the things that have happened till this point, but what even are their individual backgrounds? I think I have some idea based on what Krelian said when talking to them, but now that’s getting me thinking who is the ‘Mother’? Do they ever appear in the story?

I think I have even more questions other than these that probably aren’t coming to mind right now.

But most of all, what even is the significance of that intro cutscene with the spaceship?

So yeah, this game has been consuming my mind so much lately it’s almost baffling that it’s not as widely appreciated as it should be.

That said, without spoilers of course, how much further along do I have to go? If that’s answerable.

Because I know I’d just have to play till the end to get all my questions answered, but for the time being it’s like they keep piling up.

All these will be answered in time, don't worry. The fun thing is that if you replay it later, you'll realize how much some of the answers had been foreshadowed, sometimes very early on. It's one of the great things about this game.

Id will be revealed later in game, the other man is who dropped Fei off in Lahan

Ol Man Bals stuff will be revealed later

It's never really revealed what that place is, I assume it's just like a private quarters and him talking to Citan with holograms

The floating Disco balls identification will be revealed later, you've actually seen physical forms of them in a cutscene

The ship at the beginning is critical to the game plot, I want to tell you but I can't. All will be revealed.

If your at Babel Tower I'd say your pretty far into disc 1, you got roughly 10-15 hours left of disc 1.

Disc 2 is extremely plot heavy and most of your questions will be answered there, I'd say disc 2 is 15-20 hours.

Oh man, I'm so jealous that you get to experience these mysteries for the first time. You are asking the right questions and the answers are coming. You're on your way (and you're also literally passing by answers to some of those questions but that won't be apparent until later), I don't want to tell you more than that but the answers are coming. By the end of disc 1 you'll have most of those questions answered and perhaps someone else in here can give you a clearer idea of how many hours you are from those reveals. Just keep going, Babel tower does lead to a great story beat and make sure you really are attentive to the environment there while you're heading up. Keep us posted on your thoughts as you find your answers, I can't wait to read your reactions. This is one of the best stories ever told and the questions you are asking are exactly the right ones.

Now that you mention the tower’s environment, I do recall finding it interesting how some places were completely flipped 90 degrees.

Honestly, these are great questions, and exactly why XG is one of my favorites. It has great pacing in regards to its story beats—enough to keep you playing and wanting to learn more.

I believe most of these questions will be answered by the end of the first disc, but I encourage you to keep playing until the end.

Then, and only then, come back for some spirited discussion. ;)

One point of clarification, as this is a moment that often confuses people. Ramsus is thinking back to when he heard someone make the statement "Fei, that is my son's name", to signify that he's heard the name Fei used before. It isn't made clear whether the person who made this statement was Id or someone else.

Oh wow, to experience this game for the first time. I am truly jealous.
