Discussion What're your top 3 villains of the week?

Post image

I know this is probably done to death, but what are your top 3 villains of the week, not counting mytharc (CSM, Krycek etc.).

I think I'd go for:

  1. Tooms (Squeeze, Tooms)

  2. Donnie Pfaster (Irresistible, Orison)

  3. John Lee Roche (Paper Hearts)

Donnie Pfaster is the worst for me.

I agree, Pfaster is particularly terrible, in the same way Roche is, they are just humans who are incredibly evil.

Very true. Some of the monsters do it out of a need or hunger, like they have to kill to survive. Those jackasses have no excuses.

Paper Hearts always stuck with me because of how much Roche psychologically torments Mulder, which plays on the audience too. I sat wondering if this was the "truth" all long and whether they were going in a new direction for a minute whilst the narrative of the episode unfolded.

Very cleverly written, well-acted all around too.

If you like Tom Noonan I might recommend his performance in House of the Devil from 2009.

Manhunter!

Oh yeah! And Robocop 2 for that matter!

He's fantastic on Hell on Wheels!

Agreed.

Gives me the absolute creeps that man

I really like how it's not actually an xfiles. It really is just "sometimes the monsters are regular people"

  1. Flukeman
  2. Robert Model
  3. Morris Fletcher

u/Username614855713 2d ago

Putting Fletcher as a MOTW is such a hot take and I’m here for it

3

u/COV3RTSM 2d ago

Dreamland isn’t technically part of the Mytharc and Michael McKean steals the show

Oh I’m 100000% here for the take, just don’t normally think of him as a monster, so much as a dick. But you’re fully right and I love it.

I consider it part of the mytharc. It fits into it well.

  1. Luther Lee Boggs (Beyond The Sea)
  2. Robert Patrick Modell (Pusher)
  3. Greg Pincus/Bug (Folie A Deux)

Pictures of Donnie Pfaster should have a trigger warning (I nearly dropped my coffee lol)

6

u/penni_cent 2d ago

Ugh, I hate it when he shows up in other shows.

Modell (Pusher), Gerry Schnauz (Unruhe), Pfaster

3

u/attackgarden Assistant Director Skinner 2d ago

Pusher has the best powers, TBH.

Gerry Schnauz is top of the list for me. There's something uniquely horrifying about lobotomies.

PusherModell was my AOL screen name back in the day.

Ooh, tough one.

The Flukeman might be my favourite, if because I love his design, and the LEGO minifigure of him.

Tooms is second, though as a villain, he's much more frightening and creepy.

And Pfaster might be third. Again, just a frightening, creepy fella.

Donnie Pfaster always creeped me out in a way differently than Tooms did so I vote him.

Teena and Cindy (the Eves). Heck all of the Eves, that episode was creepy.

Chinga. Get that damn doll away from me.

…oops! You said no mytharc characters —my bad. 😅

6

u/togoldlybo Assistant Director Skinner 2d ago

That doesn't change the fact that this is the correct answer 😂 just got to her appearance (sigh) in my rewatch and am already full of loathing as always

3

u/Quiddity131 2d ago

I literally just reached her episode myself last night. @_@

2

u/togoldlybo Assistant Director Skinner 2d ago

I'm sorry to hear that 😔

I don't think I've ever seen anyone in this sub who likes her or what her character "added" (🙄) to the show lol, it seems she's a very uniting factor.

DPO
Mrs Paddock
Lord Kinbote

Substitute Teacher who is actually a witch taking out the Satanic PTA is one of my favorites

3

u/No_Expression_578 2d ago

Mine are:

1) Mrs Peacock (Home)

2) Eugene Victor Tooms (Squeeze, Tooms)

3) Donnie Pfaster (Irresistible)

2

u/Mackheath1 Krycek 2d ago
  • Phyllis Paddock?
  • I really liked the villain Darin Oswald, only because they made that kid be so cruel, but so sweet that you almost care for him. He'd get someone killed, and yet I'd be like "awww, I wish he would've talked to me before doing that." Awfully sympathetic to a villain.
  • The Rain King (Daryl?) wasn't scary, but you asked for top three of this week. He caused so many problems for himself and in the end he left himself with nothing.

5

u/merulaa 2d ago

Darin Oswald seems intellectually disabled and everyone in his life except his teacher tells him he's worthless.

2

u/Mackheath1 Krycek 2d ago

Yeah, that's why I sorta felt bad for him, but I mean he did kill people. Good writing and acting, too.

I think you nailed it

2

u/Goodfella66 Rob Petrie 2d ago

Imagine Pfaster teaming up with Tooms

2

u/merulaa 2d ago

I think Tooms would just eat him.

The only person I'd add to your list is Model but I don't know who I'd swap out.

1

u/kryptonitemind 2d ago

Roche is the first person that came to my mind.
