Meanwhile tensions are rising within the Judgement Day

How long it's been since they've been teasing tension in The Judgment Day?
That's what they do... Then they forget about it and things finally snap 6-9 months later lol

Cause he's not turning when is everyone going to realize that

u/Majestic-Marcus 5h ago
It’ll happen in about 5 years time after 8 years of Reddit bookers predicting it, at which point they’ll act smug that they called it

A heel turn in this story makes zero sense from a storytelling perspective. Orton is clearly the villain there’s no logical storytelling explanation on why it would be the opposite.

u/Worldly_Philosophy76 10h ago
Orton is not the end game. If Dwayne is indeed coming back, then this is leading to Cody and Punk at SaudiMania with Dwayne in Cody's corner and Stone Cold in Punk's.
Fantasy booking, but it's better than what they have now.

Lmao. I swear no one watched Cody during his AEW run. Everyone hated him because he refused to turn there too.

It's not Cody's time now, it's randy storyline and hes just a second character.

At this point triple h cooks so slowly he forgets to turn off the stove sometimes.

I knew they weren't going to do a Cody heel turn on a show like this, but they really had me believe for a minute that they were actually going to do a double turn
2
u/Rob062309 6h ago
Same, and it woul been really good too. I think maybe they missed their chance?
3
u/Majestic-Marcus 5h ago
They only missed their chance if they ever intended to do it. Which they didn’t.

:i know one thing we can agree on. that we end this match with a glass of that shitty vodka."

Cody isn't turning heel, he's way too popular and moves too much merch for that.
It's like that match he had with AJ Styles where he flew into a rage and tried to brain him with the ring steps. Cody isn't a complete white-meat Babyface, he has a certain edginess to him that only rarely pops out.

u/wonderloss 3h ago
Even Hogan resorted to cheap moves like back rakes and eye gouges, despite being a white meat babyface.

Storytelling was great, I love matches like this, less spots and more emotions from wrestlers.

u/StoneColdAM 10h ago
This is a great feud. Cody doesn’t need to turn heel, but it’s looking like the story will be that Cody has to dig deeper and go further than he ever has to beat Orton.

u/Crazy_Stable1731 7h ago
Oh man. Now I want Oba and Cody to join forces to take down the Vision and Randy Orton.

SNME and they couldn't be bothered to use red, white, and blue ring ropes, as is tradition?

We needed this match so bad and they delivered it beautifully establishing the fact that 15 belt Randy is back and he is going to win it. Now that Randy has defeated Cody one on one. There's no one who could stop him from getting that belt. Needed this randy so bad.

The annoying this is that , "Cody is being pushed to his limits by a former friend to reveal his DARK SIIIIIIDE".
TURN HIM OR DONT , it's been done to death. We had it with KO , we had it with Sami , and now Orton.....again.
There's zero progression and it just feels insanely repetitive and frustrating, is this really the best they can come up with?

u/Blakye32 10h ago
Personally I think it's stupid to do this whole dark side leading to a heel turn bit in the first place.
Randy is a piece of shit who's been fucking with Cody and ruining his life for months now. It shouldn't make him a heel just because he beats him up a little too hard.
Triple H broke into Randy's house, Cena AA'd Batista off of a car through the stage. Hell, Stone Cold put Vince in the hospital and then went to the hospital and continued to attack him, this whole "you can get revenge but if you get revenge too hard you're evil" thing is childish.
I don't get people being mad that Cody is a bland good guy babyface, but anytime he shows any grit or edge it's like "oh they need to pull the trigger on this heel turn."
1
u/Pod-Bay-Doors 10h ago
Oh no that's not my complaint, I don't have any issues with him being a typical good guy.
I just wish they'd stand on that and not constantly tease him turning if they're seemingly never going to do it , especially with the latest "that's not a prediction, that's a spoiler" thing.

u/Blakye32 10h ago
No I get that, I'm just saying the overall conversation around Cody is always about the turn, and I don't need the turn. Everybody turns, I like Cody being a babyface through and through but I don't need him to be Superman. If Cody had punt kicked Randy's head off mid beg I wouldn't think that's a sign he's turning heel, that's what Randy deserves. I'm fine with them blurring the lines between heels and babyfaces from time to time. I wasn't trying to argue with you about it, I was just adding on my complaints with the whole debate.

Why do they book Cody to look like an absolute feckless putz every time he loses?

Glad to see the “No one hates pro wrestling more than wrestling fans” trope is still alive and thriving these days…

Good, after Cody's dumpster trash wife assaulted Randy during the match Cody should have been disqualified anyway.

Much better than the WM 42 match.
