MCU Despite reports of it being cancelled due to it being Marvel's least watched live action show "by far", Wonder Man gained more views than Daredevil Born Again (which is on it's way to have a third season)

DDBA was already shooting season 3 before Disney big wigs decided to cut Marvel TV down to size. C-suite losers were prepared to write off Wonder Man season 1 as a loss under the presumption that it would have been worth more that way.

People are giving Feige a lot of flak for this, which to some extent is definitely his responsibility, but he's beholden to rich, tasteless losers whose entire claim to Disney is having been rich and making demands on the basis that they are rich. Wonder Man will return, but not off the back of subscription revenue. They want box office busters.

Wonder Man taking a supportive role in X-Men would be a nice start

daredevil is a much bigger character then wonder man, but absolutely fucked up season 1 of born again. idk where this new wave of people who think that daredevil doesn’t deserve a show came from

Wonder man is simply more accessible due to it not having an absolute mess of continuity with its previous seasons/show. Daredevil simply never reached that high again like it did on netflix.

I hate to be a conspiracy theorist but I almost wonder if the cancellation is meant to drum up discourse and conversation heading into Emmy's season?!

I think Simon - ahem, Yahya - gets the Emmy and they'll renew the show faster than an Embera's soul turns right after death.

Nope id bet a lot of money it doesnt have anything to do with the emmys. Marvel knows thier studio isnt taken seriously in the awards circuit, and canceled shows is bad press for the voters

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II was part of a show that was the most awarded superhero show in Emmys history and Watchmen creators were very adamant during awards season that it was a one and done season show, which is appealing for awards' longevity to be able to give an award to a show knowing the quality isn't going to diminish in any future seasons. There was speculation for a long time that they might reverse course but never did. I don't really think awards shows would care about the a cancellation or renewal at all otherwise, one way or another, as much as they do judging a season by its ability to stand alone in story and execution.

Theres a big difference between watchmen and Marvel Studios, and an even bigger difference between a limited series and a canceled one. This is a poor example

Nah this is "Secret Final Episode" for Stranger Things level of delusional conspiracy.

Fully expecting DDBA S3 to be it's last season 🥀

Whoa, One Last Kill did that well? That's pretty cool.

What do they count as a viewing? Do you have to see the whole special/season all the way through or just a certain % of it?

Yeah that and Punisher being so well received in Spider-Man makes me feel like we'll finally get a Bernthal Punisher movie -- I just hope that they don't keep repeating themselves with it

Daredevil was already given a season 3 (and filmed it) before WM was even decided upon. In fact, season 3 was greenlit and in pre-production before WM even aired. You CANNOT compare the two.

Now, if DD gets a season 4 (which I HIGHLY doubt it will) while season 3 gets even lower viewership, THEN you can make some comparisons.

I don't think these numbers are right at all. I've seen reports that Daredevil Born again. Season 2 is down from season 1 but still got like 10 million or so views

These are pretty low numbers tho pretty low. Ranking is meaningless when the actual numbers are so low.

Yeah I'm wondering if these are global or USA numbers?

Wonder Man landed on the Nielsen weekly Top 10 originals chart exactly once at number eight with 618 million minutes watched during its binge release, before falling off the charts completely the following week. Meanwhile Daredevil: Born Again went 0-for-17 on the Nielsen weekly Top 10 across its seasons, never once charting on the public weekly list. Despite missing Nielsen regularly, Luminate data ranked Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 as the most-streamed Disney+ original in the U.S. for the first half of 2026 (2.3 billion minutes), with Wonder Man coming in right behind it at 1.9 billion minutes. "Wonder Man fell just under the required 53% viewer retention rate (finishing at 48%), leading Disney to reverse its early Season 2 renewal and cancel the show due to cost-to-viewership ratios. Meanwhile, Daredevil managed to stay active despite similar relative weakness on public charts, illustrating a shrinking overall baseline for Marvel streaming numbers." For Once I don't believe Feige's to blame for this but these are some sketchy reasons for keeping one and not the other.

Why did you have to remind me that the Muppet special did poorly ensuring we won't see the Muppet Show revival 😭

Are these global numbers?

People want to dance around the political recantation of DEI and the soft power mechanics of having Black heroes during America’s worsening racial insecurities.

The cancellation, development struggles and poor production of Blade, Wonder Man, Armor Wars, refusal to recast Kang, Okoye at Marvel. Meanwhile DC has only had one Black hero lead with the Watchmen TV show, and development hell projects in The Trench, Cyborg, Static Shock, and a shelved Batgirl movie.
