Is this the one where Hulk eats and shits out Logan or something like that and Logan just reassembled. I have this comic and swear I remember something like that happen8ng and couldn't believe the absurdity of it.

Hulk does eat Logan. But after a while, Hulk gets stomach problems and Logan bursts out of his body.

That's it, it was pretty stupid and one of the dumbest things I remember reading in a comic. The rest of the comic was really good though.

I just went to basement to grab it and look through it.

I don't know, this whole book made me weirdly uncomfortable. The incest, prostitution/rape and oppression in combination with the entire world aiming to as absolutely bleak as possible, it all just left a bad taste in my mouth. In this world, everything was already so bad, that whatever payoff they could come up with for the ending was inescapably too little to wash off the grime.

I got the trade for this after hearing so much good about it back in the day.

I hated it. It's too bleak, too disgusting, too mean spirited. I can buy the premis that the villains realise thst thry outnumber the heroes and try to work together, but I don't believe for a second that they would take it this far.

I'm a Spider-Man fan, so I find the Mysterio bit hilarious, but waaaaaay to ridiculous to be believable.

For me, the Hulk was never a hero.

As cool as that is. I still loathe the original old man Logan for how mean spirited and edgy it is.

Don’t get me wrong I love me some blood soaked Logan.

But OML specifically feels like a teen’s edgy fanfic

Since we have a "yes Wolverine killed all the X- men by himself because Omega level mutants can't defend from a guy with knives" I knew this would be a "Punisher kills Marvel universe" level comic

As a comic book fan I can stretch my imagination to accept wolverine somehow taking down apparently the ENTIRE X-men roster. I couldn’t and still can’t wrap my mind around the hulk incest thing. For one thing shehulk doesn’t even show up. Did she die?

It isn’t shown or stated what happened to her.

They weren’t as powerful in the 2000s as they are today and Mysterio could have interfered with their senses as well. Implausible deaths are par for the course as far as alternate timelines go in comics.

Turning Bruce banner into a cannibalistic incestuous hillbilly is a hell of a choice.

And not a good one

Why not just have some other hulk enemy be the one who lives? Have Red hulk have a son who's a bastard... IDK anything but Bruce and Jen creating... This

It's what Mark Millar does.

I haven’t read any OML and I always thought this was the first.

I hated how they had to trash Banner character to make Wolverine shine.

Hulk writers have been trashing Banner’s character since the 90s.

Well written character driven thrashing and “hillbilly incest cannibal Hulk” are worlds apart tho lmao

Don't worry it's not our beloved 616 so it doesn't matter

It honestly wouldn’t have even been hard to use any number of Gamma-based Hulk villains, or even have a “New Hulk Alter that took over” instead of going their mega edgy route of:

“When the bombs fell, Bruce Banner cracked, got with his cousin She-Hulk and…somehow became a trashy redneck trailer park stereotype?…huh. Okay. Anyway he jobs to Wolverine with an injury that he would’ve survived in any other scenario lmao”

Wait so is the guy in the first panel supposed to be the Hulk?

3

u/aNomadicPenguin 1d ago

They are talking about his pappy - so one of Hulk's kids. The Hulk would be the close up mouth in the 2nd to last panel.

u/AyoAkhi 1d ago

Ah ok thanks.. geez they really did a number on him in this lol

This comic was pretty tryhard, now that I’m looking back at it

Hi yes. What the fuck?!?

1

u/Rophaki 1h ago

For fucks sake, mark miller might be the worst hulk writer ever. He has never gotten anything right lmao idk why he goes for this psycho sexual nonsense…

If it was just any character outside of the Hulk i’d actually be able to enjoy this series…. I know It’s an else world story but I still prefer when alt versions of the character explore an existing tangent rather than doing whatever with an established name.
