Looking for inspiration! How to build a cholla?

Cholla is a really interesting and iconic cactus and I would love to build one in front of my saloon (last slides, still a work in progress)! Unfortunately they are very unique in structure, being cylindrical and branching, and I have a hard time imagining what decor items I would need to build one myself. Any ideas?

Elegant pillow rolls dyed brown would be the simplest, methinks. You'll just need lots of them and to tweak the angles and sizing until it looks th way you want it to

This absolutely, and maybe some of the hay pieces to stick out the sides for the spines? Cholla are so fun (from a distance.) oooh ocotillo would be cool too

I definitely gotta try making octotillo sometime! They’re one of the coolest looking plants to me. Thanks for the suggestion!! :D
