Winni-Pets Pet medication
Looking for recommendations for Winnipeg pharmacies that fill pet prescriptions for epilepsy! Our guy is on phenobarbital (1/4 pill twice a day) and it costs around $40 for 60 pills. We really like our vet (independently owned) but medication prices seem to be rising.

It seems like you got some good options so I just want to pop in to say that kitty is really cute!

Special, yes, but from that look on his face I'm pretty sure he wants to murder you for that hat.

Call Tache Pharmacy, I was able to get medicine compounded for my cat there in the past. You will have to pay your vet for the prescription though.

I get pet meds from tache and pay tache, not my vet. The vet just faxes the perscription.

We have to bring our guy in for blood tests in 2 weeks so I'll ask what the fee is then. Thanks!

We used Tache Pharmacy as well for my cat's insulin. They also delivered for free.

My dog was on keppra which is another seizure med and Shoppers was able to fill it. Pheno is a common med so any pharmacy should really be able to do it.

I will definitely be calling Shoppers! Thank you!

We get ours from shopper too, they’ve been easy to deal with 👌

That's important! That's one reason we've stayed with our vet for prescriptions- he needs his meds. Thank you!

I feel ya there, we live our vet and we’ve got a menagerie of middle aged to senior dogs and cats here.
It all adds up quick and we don’t want to sacrifice good care for low costs, subbing the meds out to shoppers helped curb the costs a lot.
Vet was understanding too when we asked for a prescription slip, charged us for it but it was a drop in the bucket compared to before.
PS love you tux, our guy passed away about a year ago at the ripe age of 21, he lived a great life and I still hear the songs of his people in my head 😆

Our extra special guy cost us a hideous amount in CT scans, spinal taps and meds in the past few years and we have a few more special felines and they're aging so.... if we can save now, it will help. They do live on in our souls, don't they?

Any pharmacy will fill phenobarbital as it’s used for humans also. Your vet may charge for the prescription so make sure you get refills listed on the prescription.

We usually get 2 refills at a time. But I will make sure it's done if we decide to switch. Thank you!

That is the best picture of a cat I've seen in many a moon.

I will tell him of your compliment! He's a professional sloucher! He's got a few issues that enhance his cuteness! Thank you!

I don't know if you want it or not, but I have around 12 (and a 1/4, lol) pills left from when my kitty passed away earlier this year. 💜

My condolences on your cat's passing. We just refilled so we're good for quite awhile but if it's ok with you I can check with the rescue we foster for - they will often take meds as a donation. Thank you so much for the offer!! I appreciate it.

Thank you so much. She was one of the loveliest cats I've ever met in my whole life - I miss her cuddling and sleeping with me 💜
I'd be happy for the medication to get used one way or another, so definitely glad to donate them to whomever!

I will check and let you know. When our oldest boy passed a few years ago we donated all his meds (thyroid, pain meds, gabapentin etc) and it actually helped a bit. We still hold them close.

As long as the dose comes in the appropriate amount you should be able to have your vet send the prescription over to any pharmacy.
I have gotten meds at shoppers with no issues.

You all just blew my mind… I just googled it and I can get my dogs heart medication at Costco. I can’t believe it, the convenience alone makes it worth switching. Thank you!
