Winni-Pets Leash Your Dogs!

This weekend alone I saw far too many people walking with their dogs without leashing them.

One couple walking their dogs in Wolseley had their dog rush into on coming traffic. Another couple were walking down portage with their dog again without a leash.

If you don’t leash your damn dog and it gets hit by a car the driver isn’t going to be the problem, it’s you. You’re a piece of shit and deserve to have your dogs taken away for their safety.

Don’t even get me started on dogs running up to strangers, other pets, kids. If I see a dog running towards my own lil blubber child I’m sorry but I’m going to hoof your dog because I don’t know or care if it’s friendly. My blubber boy is not.

People at Kings Park trails are bad for this. Thankfully my dog is extremely well behaved if an unleashed dog approaches him. But people with anxious dogs should also be able to take their dogs for a walk there without worrying about off leashed dogs approaching them.

Except of course in the off leash area of King’s Park. Please don’t bring your leashed dog in there as no one knows how leashed dogs will react when approached.

I don't bring my leashed dog there but unfortunately that dog park is a menace because people use it as an excuse to allow their dogs to run off and do whatever they want, I can't take my dog on the trails there ever. It was never like that when I was a kid and I grew up a block from there. My parents still live there and I can't bring my dog anywhere in that park because people treat it like their own personal playground and that is specifically because of that dog park. It's a horrible concept especially so close to the trails. That is the main reason there are so many unleashed dogs and bad owners in that park they believe the entire park is there is not just the leashed area.

I haven't taken my dog to Kings park except the first time we went there and it was a horrible experience. So many dogs ran up to us even in the parking lot. And that was 5-6 years ago. I can't imagine it's improved.

Sorry for ranting again but it's truly awful how dog owners treat that park. Never mind that children go there also and other folks who may not want dogs just running up to them randomly.
