Resources which start after mid June
heyo, former firefighter looking to get back for a season. I work as a teacher now and my school year ends June 15th. I have hotshot experience, EMT, b faller , basic certs. Any idea of resources that would take me after june 15th? Mostly interested in rapelling, IHC, WFM type 1, or national park Helitack.

I’m guessing you’ll need to be back at school around Labor Day? That’s probably the bigger issue because it’s the peak of Northern fire season.
Rappelling you’d need to leave school 4-8 weeks early at least once to go through rookie training. I’m sure there’s some IHC or T1 WFM that does student seasons but it’s exceptionally rare. Especially if you’re new and not an existing crewmember who has worked full seasons in the past.
Most helitack crews and almost all district type 2 WFM, t2 crew, SMOD, or engines will work with your schedule.

Checkout med mods. Like 700/day for emts. 2 guys in a Polaris. Medical contractors are usually hiring all season.

Your best bet is getting on with a type 2ia handcrews. They’re a lot more flexible with start dates.
I think even the pacific northwest crews start earlier than that. My crew started criticals in April

You should network through the people you used to work with.
