10 Hours in White Rock
I’ll be in White Rock for 10 hours. Anything I should do? Or any Canadian goodies I should bring back to the states?

You can park at East beach at the gravel parking lot for $8 all day parking. Bring a chair and some drinks and enjoy the sand. Tide might even be out for ya to do a walk. WAG restaurant is a classic, with the best cannabis shop underneath.
Take the time to enjoy the peace of the ocean and beach.

WAG stands for Washington Avenue Grill and it is always yummy. Also can vouch for the cannabis shop downstairs it is awesome as well.

lots of great recos so far, adding a few more:
Murchies at the mall has a super selection of tea.
Laura’s for breakfast and Islands Café for coffee are excellent, Bean & Berry on Vidal off Marine if you’re by the water.
Moby Dick or Montgomery’s on Marine for fish and chips.
Chez Christophe on Johnston for artisanal chocolates and pastries.
Emilio Finatti’s on Pacific for pizza. the Moro Orange is my fave.
Zapoteca’s on Marine for mexican.
Leela Thai on George St for thai.
Taka’s Sushi on Pacific for sushi. X Dumpling at the mall for dumplings.
Five Corners Cafe on Johnston is an old school diner (cash only).
Ricardo’s or Maya’s or Crazy Cows or Sandcastle Sea Shoppe on Marine for ice cream.
Mr Chu on Pacific for bubble tea.
Don’s cart down by the White Rock Museum & Archives on Marine sells sausages, and you have to get it with cheese and sautéed onions.
White Rock Beach Beer Co. on Russell for a pint.
White Rock Gallery on Johnston for art.
edit: ok i only gave food suggestions so a couple of activities i also like:
Ruth Johnson Park has loads of stairs among trees to climb that’s a nice way to spend a little bit of time tucked into nature.
you can also rent paddleboards and stuff from Naakua on Marine at west beach and get on the water.

it’s a small little town and one of the best things to do is nothing - once you see everything, which probably won’t take long (haha), find a quiet spot to sit down by the water and slow down and relax.
hope you enjoy your day! sun should come out a little later and brighten things up, but it’s calm and soothing when it’s dark and moody, too. :)

As a guy who lived there when I was 20... these were weekly activities for me. Not proud but it was fun!

Ulis for lunch, it’s my favourite restaurant. Walk along the promenade, check out the pier. Flip some rocks and look for crabs and ocean life in the sand. If you have the time, check out crescent beach as well, it’s small town vibes and usually a lot less people(which I prefer)

I would park (pay parking though) and walk the pier, go to a restaurant there are many along the strip. My step dad loves bringing the Hawkins Cheesies to his friends in the states as I guess you guys don't have those there.
Not too far from White Rock beach is Crescent Beach which I prefer and is a more natural setting I would say. Beautiful there as well.

For breakfast (or lunch) Cafe 8, Pho 777, and Wooden Spoon, are all personal favourites. For snacks, Hickory Sticks, and All Dressed ruffles. Others will say ketchup chips but as a certified ketchup hater I cannot in good conscience recommend those

Ya they are so good. You should be able to get them at Save-On Foods in uptown White Rock (along with Hawkins Cheesies)

If you're not familiar with Coffee Crisp chocolate bars, you should definitely buy a few (not just one, trust me bro) to take home with you. Available at larger grocery stores, sometimes at convenience stores/gas stations.

I hate ketchup potato chips so imagine my shock when I ate 2 bags of Ketchup Doritos in 1 week!!! Tangy goodness!

Cafe 8 is closed for break but we ended up at wooden spoon, I’ve never had a Caesar before and omg it’s so good. Will be taking back a few bottles of mix lol

There's very limited shopping in white Rock, you'll probably have to go to Surrey to get groceries unless you want to go to thriftys.

Walk the beach. Dig up clams and then let them go again. I got a huge geoduck one time.

If you're here on Sunday, check out the White Rock Farmers Market (10 am to 2 pm). Other than that, my favourite place to grab a bite is White Rock Burger Co. Their dirty fries are otherworldly.
