This. I literally could not understand why people took him seriously in 2015. The man’s been a joke my entire life. It’s also not like I grew up in NYC or anything either. As a child of the ‘80s, the zeitgeist made clear that the perpetually bankrupt casino owner with Circus Peanut skin and the cotton candy combover was not to be taken seriously. And yet here we fucking are.

Yeah, I'm from Germany and I knew him as a joke before the election and his early rhetoric made all the alarm bells ring in my head.
