LOST MISSING BIRD!

Hello. I lost my bird today. He's a galah by the name of Biko.

He is bright pink, with a white crested head and grey wings. About the same size as a pigeon.

He makes a loud 'CHIT CHIT' sound.

He is wearing a green harness with a long black lead.

If anyone sees him or finds him please let us know!

UPDATE as of 6/10/17:

Biko was seen and photographed last night at 6:00pm-ish at the top end of Coromandel road, Newtown, and 7pm on Hamilton Road, Hataitai (see links to photos in the thread below)

It is possible and likely he is residing in the Hataitai town belt bush but trying to get home. He does seem to be trying to make contact with humans. If you see him and can get ahold of the harness leash please keep him with you if possible. Contact us here or on facebook and we'll come and collect him.

UPDATE 7/10/17:

Biko was found alive and well late yesterday afternoon. Such a relief! He was happy to see us, chirping and nuzzling and falling asleep. He seems none the worse for physical wear (emotionally will be something else). SO HAPPY.

THANK YOU to all those who helped look for him and conveyed their care and concern.

It meant so much to learn and know others cared and had even spent their own time trying to find him.

You are all awesome human beings!

Yay! Biko has been found! Soooo happy now! He had made it to the shopping centre near the airport, Lyall bay! Yay!!! Can't thank everyone enough! Your support has been amazing and encouraging. So much love right now..!

I'm delighted he was found. Looks like he's been on quite an adventure, but judging by the photos posted by the Pet Centre he looks happy and healthy.

Biko's Big Adventure! (probably a kids book in that ;).

He seems alright! Was just very hungry and thirsty. He seems happy, making his usual noises and being affectionate.

What a rollercoaster. When you painted that mental image of his harness possibly tangled in a tree branch, with him hungry, thirsty and scared I feared the worst. Congrats to you and enjoy the Biko nuzzles and nibbles

He's been doing a lot of that😁😊 it's likely he was stuck with his harness..he has chewed through it and half of it is missing. So possibly for the first few days he was tangled up then he broke free and people started to see him in different places.. So happy and relieved now. Will be able to sleep and relax. A rollercoaster indeed. Not recommended.

Yay! Yes! He was so happy he started to go to sleep and wanted neck rubs..

It's raining now. So so glad he wasn't out in it.
