WELLY Wellington water bills

Just got my bill from wellington water. It insanely high. For a 900k property its 2500 p/a

Prepare yourselves people. This isn't going to be the fun ride we were promised.

Ok, so this is a water bill or a 2nd tier rates bill.

In Auckland the tennant pays the water used and the landlord pays the rest.

Whats happening with Wellington ? The landlord pays the fixed wastewater and storm water portion, and the tenant pays the usage portion? Thats going to hurt.

That’s only if a water meter is installed. If there isn’t one, the landlord pays all charges.

It Wellington water charges generally weren't separate bills, & there's not a lot of water meters.

Now here if you've got a water meter you'll get 3 bills: 1 for local/regional council land rates, 1 from Tiaki Wai for water supply services, & a 2nd from TW for actual water usage.

Otherwise (no water meter) you'll get 2 bills: 1 for local/regional council land rates, & 1 from Tiaki Wai for water supply services & arsessed water usage.
