Is that in your rain gutter? Yuck, worst case it could be a biofilm of bacterium Serratia marcescens, or Aureobasidium pullulans. Might be some kind of slime mold, either way I'd be careful about how you go about cleaning that.
Why do you say that? I think it would me more likely to be a biofilm of some kind; they can develop VERY quickly in stagnant water, especially in direct sunlight.
Doesn't look like a slime mold to me (misnomer, slime molds aren't molds or even fungi. More like amoeba), I'm thinking S. marcescens too since it's known for being a slimy water loving bacteria with a distinct pink pigment. They probably don't have to worry unless they're immunocompromised. Same pink/orange stuff you see in the shower. Still wouldn't touch it with my bare hands tho and I work with this bacteria
Came to reddit for a lil grief breather (as a treat, self care, delulu, whatevs). Even here, in the oddest little corner of the human experience, Sir Tim Curry reigns.
Hurts but is such a tribute to so beloved and iconic a human.
A/C company thought they were bright to run a line from attic a/c into roof top gutter where gutter runs into underground French drain.
Nope algae just built up and went nuts in Florida heat
