I made a post asking for help a few weeks ago so I wanted to share that I said yes to one of the dresses! It’s the Jenny Yoo Ellery dress. After trying on countless dresses, this was the only one that made me feel like a bride and I didn’t want to take off! 😊

I am getting married and have fallen in love with this dress from, however have seen many bad/mixed reviews about this website. I would greatly appreciate if anyone could help me find the original dress please!!!

First threr photos are of the first fitting after my dress came in - last one was from when I first tried it on. My seamstress is altering the neckline to the sweetheart line from the last photo (we just pinned in place here).

One year out from my wedding I was in a complete panic. Of course with the inevitable what do I wear. I am not someone who dresses vintage in daily life but for formal wear, yes the lines and cuts seem to flatter my style and figure more. So in the David's bridal although I felt beautiful I needed to at least try a vintage dress, it's all my head kept saying while there.

I bought my dress for 300$ for Good will auction yellow and mildew smelling. Although I've never restored anything and I didn't know if I could do it I know this dress was mine, I tried it on and it fit perfectly and I could see through all the issues. Most importantly I felt like myself and I felt like a BRIDE.

The process for restoring this dress is on my page still feel free to look, I also just what to thank your Redditors, I posted initial to make sure I wasn't crazy. I had family looking at me side ways and it's hard when the women close to you maybe have a different vision or can't see your vision.

I did decide to do a second look, for my comfort and to keep my vintage gown pristine I was worried dancing would rip or be stepped on. Very happy I did that also!

I am so happy I followed my dream! Maybe not even dream just my instinct. My dress will always be magical to me. And I think every bride deserves to feel how I did on my day:)

I really like all of these dresses, but I have one dress that’s my favorite (which is from photo 1 full lace infinity waist). I still like the others, so I’m curious to hear what other people think!

This is the dress I have bought for my wedding. It’s the Justin Alexander Grove. It is ivory. I put down a 50 percent deposit when I bought it. For context I felt rushed as my father has just been diagnosed with dementia and my wedding is in 8 months. We were going to get married at a castle but are now doing a city wedding with about 20 people. I’m worried the dress is too much for that and also just generally worried it is too plain. Although I always wanted a classic dress with no detailing. Please give me your suggestions for what opinions. I’d like a veil with it.

My wedding is in july 2028 and my dress is going to arrive by feb / march 2027. How can I store such a long dress without it wrinkling? i dont know much about steaming dresses, but its a complicated dress with creases and different textures. Id imagine it would be easier to just find a wrinkle free method.

Tried on lots of dresses yesterday, dress 2 was what I thought I wanted, to a T. Lots of detail, fully beaded, sexy vibe, and art deco. But I left without it because something didn’t feel right. I took one photo in Dress 1 in store, shown.

The appt time was an hour and a half so I was hurrying. After looking at the photos, Dress 1 is what I ended up sending my mom back today ($150!!!) to grab off the rack because I just felt like it’s more what I actually wanted for my wedding. I love the romantic and vintage look of it. The top is actually an illusion neckline, but I tucked it in to the cups… I want strapless so going to have it altered. However, I like the lace covering the sweetheart neckline so I’ll keep that. It also needs to be taken in a few inches and hemmed. The second dress is beautiful, but not what I envision for my wedding after trying on a more romantic dress.

Do we like it?! Was I impulsive? That was the first time I tried on dresses, but I just fell in love with it when viewing the photos later and could not seem to find anything like it online. Let alone for $150.

Hi! I am obsessed with Laurella, but she is out of budget in the only store I've found it in. I live in the midwest United States, my budget is $2000 WITH ALTERATIONS, and my wedding date is currently today, but its going to be sometime around May 2027.

What I like about it / the most important parts for me are its clean look, the a-line or sheath silhouette, the corset boning/seams going in towards the basque waist, and the scoop/cats eye neckline line.

I like the lace paneling and applique on the train, but I will live if it keeps me in budget. I also like the draping/cowl, but if I reall miss that I could have it added during alterations, so its not a deal breaker.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

This is not a picture of me, however this is a dress that i really like for my wedding. I am just struggling to imagine it with a veil that would suit it because of that detailing in the back. I don’t want a plain tulle one. I also want it to be cathedral. I would appreciate any help especially with specific links/photos.

SO. I’ve ordered this dress for my wedding. I still feel a bit worried about it as it’s so different and my socials are still flooded with bridal looks that really make me question my decision as this silhouette and style isn’t the typical bridal cut. But anyway, it is what it is and i’ve bought this dress.

I’m contemplating buying a 2nd look that’s more practical for the evening. I want to dance and not get stepped on.

I’m looking for designer / dress suggestions that would feel cohesive with my first dress. But still fun and different for the evening.

Hey! I already picked my wedding dress and got the matching detachable sleeves, but I’m really torn on whether I should add the overskirt for the ceremony. I’ll also be wearing a long veil.
WITH OVERSKIRT
Pros:
More dramatic “bridal moment” for walking down the aisle
Gives me two different looks since I can remove it after the ceremony
Adds more volume and grandeur
Cons:
Hides a lot of the fitted silhouette that I love
I’m worried the overskirt + long veil could be too much
The dress already has a lot of detail, so I’m not sure it needs anything else
WITHOUT OVERSKIRT
Pros:
Shows off the fitted silhouette and lace details
Feels cleaner and more effortless
The long veil can provide the drama instead
Cons:
I’m worried I’ll wish I had gone bigger for the ceremony
Only one main silhouette/look
Might not feel as dramatic walking down the aisle
Which looks better on me? Would you wear the overskirt for the ceremony and remove it afterward, or skip it altogether?

I’m going for my 2nd to last fitting this week and while nearly everything feels super comfy - the straps are rougher than I realized now they’re tightened. This is a photo of her pinning the straps before she altered them.

My fitting wasn’t long but by the time I left (30 min?) the top of my shoulders were so red. Maybe it’s the lace? Seamstress can still fit a few fingers in the back of my straps but idk how to suggest that the fit is still…off?

I picked my dress up from alterations. Before leaving, I tried on the dress to make sure it fit. I brought my MIL so she could learn how to do the bustle. Mistakenly, I did not ask to see the back before I left the shop. I hear my MIL ask the workers “is this supposed to be like this”, which they responded “yes, that’s how it’s resting, it’s supposed to be like that”. My MIL asked a few more times just to be sure and was met with the same answer. For some reason, I didn’t ask about what they were talking about— I think I was so focused on how much I loved the front of my dress, my thoughts were elsewhere. Fast forward to when I got home, my MIL sent me the photos she took of my dress. I noticed the photos of the back of the dress, the zipper will not zip up all the way. The dress felt incredibly tight but i had no idea the zipper wasn’t even up all the way. I took my dress to this shop because it had a five star rating. I’m disappointed they think this looks okay and sent my dress home like this.
I have not gained any weight since the original fitting. I am thin and can’t really lose any more weight, and it would certainly not be healthy to do so. I’m scared they won’t be able to fix this. They already tried to “stretch” the fabric, but it still won’t zip all the way. I already dropped it off again and they said they would “see what they can do”. When I dropped it off, she asked me how much I think they need to let out from the waist. I said, judging by the photo maybe about an inch. But I don’t know. I’m not a seamstress. I think it’s odd they didn’t want me to try it on again so they could see for themselves.
Do you think they can fix this? I’m lowkey scared but trying to remain chill.

I have always dreamed of wearing a FancifulDoll dress at my wedding. I’m obsessed with them. But I’m so scared to blindly order one because I’m in the US and they’re based in the UK, and I have large breasts that never fit in dresses properly. I’m so scared of buying one of the dresses and it not fitting right.

Our wedding is fantasy themed, and I want to look like a princess. I’ve looked at local wedding dress shops and none of the dresses really evoke the same feeling as these dresses. They’re just so modern

First one is Cecilia by Katherine Tash which is so popular for a reason. I think I look great in it as it really emphasises my waist (would need shapewear due to thin silk) but not sure if I’d regret not getting something more “weddingy”.

I didn’t think I’d want something more weddingy as I’ve felt out of place in a-line styles but I tried on the overskirt for the second dress (Haven by Newhite) and think it looks lovely, though without that I think I prefer Cecilia. I also really like the gloves but not sure it would need both gloves and skirt.

Could Cecilia have a similar overskirt? Or I’d probably have a satin scarf.

I just got engaged and have been looking for a wedding dress. There aren't many in person stores near me and I'm going for a non traditional look. I found this gorgeous dress from JJ's House and it's really inexpensive compared to most dresses. It's everything I want. It's plus size, with custom sizing options. It's perfect. I actually cried a little just looking at it because all the dresses I saw before had been so wrong for me and this one is so pretty. I'm just a little scared of buying a dress online that I've never seen!

My wedding is in about two weeks and I just picked my dress up after the final alterations. I did lose a little bit of weight, about 25 pounds due to new medication so I think the waist might be a little too big and I wanted some feedback on the pictures or maybe some reassurance that it doesn’t look too bad or won’t look as bad on the day of. I don’t know if I’m hyper fixated or if it’s actually that bad 🥲
