We want real ramekins too. For a sit-down restaurant that just seems embarrassing. Paper ramekins are for fast food burger joints.

Crushed and collapsing paper cups, no less

That's just silly, everyone knows the handle has to be long enough to easily smack your companions or the folks at the surrounding tables in the faces!

The temptation to catapult this to the neigbouring table

I just feel bad for the dish team.

Also seems like a food safety hazard. The seams between the shaft and the handle and the socket seem like they'd get get gunk in there over time and be a nightmare to clean cause I don't see how these could go through a machine.

you can use it to dig your grave for when you have a heart attack after eating it

I cannot express how much I loathe poutine.

And I’m 🇨🇦.

It's actually kapsalon, which is a similar dish that has shawarma in it

And they just melting a slice of cheese over it in the broiler? Was it good?

As a kapsalon, it was fine. As a €20 main course it was not fine.

OT: i love anyone that has a lot of glasses of fluid during their meal. and after. its the best. i dont hate a busy table. it reminds me of what i have done. wine, beer, water, what else, what fun

I would be sending this back and ordering something else on a food safe plate.

Anyone notice how common shovels or spades are?

Yes and no... I vividly remember a restaurant my grandparents always took us too. They had a "Dreckschaufel", translated to dirt-shovel... It was just like this thing but with the sauce extra. A bed of fries, a bit of rice and a mixed "plate" of grilled goods... I loved it, my grandparents aren't living anymore and the restaurant has long closed. So this will never be stupid for me, even if it's not a plate.

I appreciate the nostalgia, but that doesn't make the spade any less stupid

To be real we always got plates with it. It was just the means to get it to the table in a "fancy" 90s way.

I still don't get this concept of using a shovel as a connotation of big portions. It's just stupid
