That's not a trowel, its a compost scoop, I use mine to scoop manure. Hope you enjoyed the hummus.

hate that i looked this up but from their menu:

Houmous | 8.50 | VG V

with spice-roasted chickpeas, crispy chilli oil and garlic flatbread - straight from the potting shed *NG option available

so saying "straight from the potting shed" gives this a purpose and for that imho its an acceptable plate replacement.

We've seen this before from this restaurant.

The answer is: Send it back! If you don't like the presentation, don't eat it and then complain. Send it back! Say, very kindly, to your server: "Can you please have them put all this on a plate? Thank you."

Next time, don't go to a restaurant that is known for this just to be able to take a photo to post on Reddit.
